Lead up to the Iraq War is no different from the Lead up to Denver UNLESS YOU HELP STOP IT

Perhaps the meaning of inevitability should be couched in a post 9-11 definition. Inevitability redefined means “because the Press and the Political Elite make it so.” Inevitable is no longer due to ANY underlying facts. We are no longer in a one person one vote world. It is time to tell the DNC to stop its War on Democracy.
The Denver Group and its founders Heidi Li Feldman and Marc Rubin remind me of the early roots of Move-on and the few voices against the Iraq War I could find when I was trying to find a way to join a movement to prevent that war. There were a few voices in the wilderness speaking truth, but the press and politicos were playing up the Slam Dunk of finding WMD in Iran like the second coming. They even had up to 65% of the population believing that Saddam Hussein was behind the 9/11 attacks. I can remember sitting in a restaurant discussing the inanity of any war in Iraq and being yelled at by many folks from the surrounding tables as being an unpatriotic peacenik. No amount of reason could stop the race towards this unnecessary war. The Press and the Politicos wanted it.
Now, with so many realizing the truth, I can hardly believe we see the same tactics in play to anoint a DNC general election candidate based on lies and back room manipulations hidden from the general public. Not only are they in play, they APPEAR TO BE WORKING! Is the ordinary American really that stupid? We now have some folks working hard to play up the Slam Dunk claim that is Obama as Democratic Party Nominee. Just as then Secretary of State Colin Powell was sent to the United Nations with phony evidence debunked by many within the CIA, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Howard Dean are touting the inevitability of a unified party and an Obama ascendancy by stacking the deck against reality and the truth.
Are you willing to let that happen?
I know Heidi and I’ve read Marc’s blog since its inception. I suggest you check out my links to Tom in Paine or Heidi Li’s Potpourri in the side bar. You can also get a great interview with them at this thread on No Quarter: http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/07/03/breaking-nq-radio-interview-the-denver-group/ . They are looking to make the DNC accountable for their actions during this primary season.
From their site:
Insuring that Senator Clinton’s name is on the ballot requires sending a message to Howard Dean, the DNC and the country at large that the Democratic Party is playing with fire to even consider subverting democratic principles by removing her name and having anything less than an open honest convention. It also sends the message that the false sense of party unity that’s being promoted by the Democratic Party and willingly repeated by the news media is just that — false.
There are many factors conspiring to try and keep Senator Clinton’s name off the ballot not the least of which is the fear by some that, given the events of the last few weeks, she could actually win.
At a dinner with Clinton donors two weeks ago, Senator Obama was asked if he supported Senator Clintons name on the ballot. His answer was that he wasn’t there to negotiate the convention. We think its fair to say that if Senator Obama has his way her name wont be on the ballot and he will use all his influence with the DNC to accomplish that. A mass media approach is a very public way of pushing back and letting the DNC know there’s another side watching and there will be dire consequences if that happens.
I’m still appalled by the complete lack of truthfulness and democracy that occurred during this primary season that may eventually lead us into a War Against Democracy in the same way we were led to a War Against Iraq under the guise of lies. Take a real look at some of the things that are going on.
There has been a concerted effort to flip every Clinton delegate, pledged or otherwise, to Obama to remove the possibility of Obama being upstaged at the convention. You see, no one is the nominee at the convention until one of the candidates receives the magic number of delegates. That is why Obama is strong-arming anyone that continues to stick with Hillary.

Bill Clinton is a PUMA!
Posted: June 28, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: Bill Clinton, Bill Clinton is a PUMA, DNC NO UNITY, JUST SAY NO OBAMA, No Obama, OBAMA NO DEAL, PUMA 83 CommentsFrom the UK Telegraph:
Bill Clinton says Barack Obama must
‘kiss my ass’ for his support
Bill Clinton is so bitter about Barack Obama’s victory over his wife Hillary that he has told friends the Democratic nominee will have to beg for his wholehearted support.
APBill Clinton is still very bitter that Barack Obama beat his wife HillaryMr Obama is expected to speak to Mr Clinton for the first time since he won the nomination in the next few days, but campaign insiders say that the former president’s future campaign role is a “sticking point” in peace talks with Mrs Clinton’s aides.
The Telegraph has learned that the former president’s rage is still so great that even loyal allies are shocked by his patronising attitude to Mr Obama, and believe that he risks damaging his own reputation by his intransigence.
A senior Democrat who worked for Mr Clinton has revealed that he recently told friends Mr Obama could “kiss my ass” in return for his support.
A second source said that the former president has kept his distance because he still does not believe Mr Obama can win the election.
Mr Clinton last week issued a tepid statement, through a spokesman, in which he said he “is obviously committed to doing whatever he can and is asked to do to ensure Senator Obama is the next president of the United States “.
Mr Obama was more effusive at his unity event with Mrs Clinton on Friday, speaking fondly of the absent former president, who attended Nelson Mandela’s birthday celebrations in London instead. The candidate told the crowd: “I know how much we need both Bill and Hillary Clinton as a party. They have done so much great work. We need them badly.”
But his aides said he has so far concentrated on cementing relations with Mrs Clinton first. They say they are content to let relations with Mr Clinton thaw gradually.
It has long been known that Mr Clinton is angry at the way his own reputation was tarnished during the primary battle when several of his comments were interpreted as racist.
But his lingering fury has shocked his friends. The Democrat told the Telegraph: “He’s been angry for a while. But everyone thought he would get over it. He hasn’t. I’ve spoken to a couple of people who he’s been in contact with and he is mad as hell.
“He’s saying he’s not going to reach out, that Obama has to come to him. One person told me that Bill said Obama would have to quote kiss my ass close quote, if he wants his support.
“You can’t talk like that about Obama – he’s the nominee of your party, not some house boy you can order around.
“Hillary’s just getting on with it and so should Bill.”
Another Democrat said that despite polls showing Mr Obama with a healthy lead over Republican John McCain, Mr Clinton doesn’t think he can win.
The party strategist, who was allied to one of the early rivals to Mr Obama and the former First Lady, said Mr Clinton was “very unhopeful” about the nominee’s prospects in November.
“Bill Clinton knows the party will unite behind Obama, but he is telling people he doesn’t believe Obama can win round voting groups, especially working-class whites, in the swing states,” the strategist said.
“He just doesn’t think Obama will be able to connect with the voters he needs.”
Joe Klein, the author of Primary Colours, a fictionalised account of Mr Clinton’s 1992 election, who has known the former president for 20 years, said he also heard that he was “very, very bitter”, from people who have spoken with him.
Have I mentioned enough on this blog yet HOW MUCH I LOVE THE BRITS?
“It’s time for him to get over it or go off and do his charitable work. He knows the rules of the road. What’s going on now is kind of strange. I think his behaviour is really, really shocking.”
Party Unity My ASS!
Posted: June 27, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: disunity, just say no deal, No Obama, PARTY UNITY MY ASS, PUMA, unity 3 CommentsWhile Bill was held captive in some undisclosed area in Europe, Hillary Clinton put on her best Democratic face and blue pantsuit then joined the legions of Obama Fluffers. The big question now remains. How many deadenders are out there that are not buying this unity marketing campaign? It appears the Puma Rebellion is now big enough that all the MSM channels and even news papers are noticing. Yesterday, it was the WaPo. ( http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/06/26/AR2008062604162.html) Today, even CNN’s Wolf Blitzer got into the act.
Suddenly, those of us in the PUMA roots were being courted for press interview. We know the Obama campaign has poured over our sites and when you look threatening enough, assigns you an Obama Troll of your very own. Our presence has been duely noted, but has not ranked up there enough with sites like No Quarter to achieve multi-trolling.
My mother used to say that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. This was her way of saying my tongue was way too sharp. Obama’s minions will occasionally try the honey: But Hillary says she’s supporting him! (Yeah, I know, most of them are still probably virgins with lines like that!) ALL the KIDS are DOING IT!!!! But generally, they ramp up shortly to thwapping you with race cards and nasty labels. Then the nasty Republican policies enter the equation. Problem is that John McCain isn’t your standard Republican and Obama has no record to run on. The only thing you have is his word, and gee his word on FISA, public financing, hand gun bans or nonbans, Iran (threat or no threat), and unconditional well, maybe not so unconditional chatting with despots still has me wondering if Obama really knows the meaning of the word truth.
Here’s an NPR editorial. This is the beginning, hopefully, of the Media taking a real hard look at Obama the way that those of us in the PUMA movement have.
So, anyway, there are many folks out there trying to get a headcount on us. Latest thing I saw on statistics said that about 25% of original Hillary supporters are saying no to Obama and perhaps an additional 10% haven’t figured out what to do yet. DNC pundits are pounding home historical trends of chicks coming home to the roost prior to the GE. The Baltimore Sun had a great article on this called “Painful Lessons” by Dr. Lynette Long. She outlines the things she’s learned during the Hillary run for President.
source: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/oped/bal-op.women18may18,0,3121832.story
Among the most interesting points in the article is the belief held by the DNC that women will return and vote Obama because they have no place else to go. They think we’ll just go along with their less-than-evil party niche.
“Women voters are not factored into the decision making of the Democratic National Committee. The DNC is concerned that black voters will protest and stay home if Senator Clinton gets the nomination, even though she is the stronger and more electable candidate. But the DNC doesn’t worry that white women, three times larger than the combined black vote, will stay away from the polls if Mrs. Clinton does not get the nomination. They expect the white women of the party to fall in step and vote for Mr. Obama in the general election. ”
This is one chick that is not coming home to roost and I think that the DNC is about to find out that many women have had it with being taken for granted. Twenty-five percent of 18 million voters is a heck of a lot of people. Perhaps this sudden awareness of PUMA and JUST SAY NO DEAL and the huge number of MSM articles is due to the number of women responding with utter frustration to their prior sexist and nasty articles and blogs with “PUMA BOMBS”. This is the PUMA response to the seemingly endless cut and paste political points that have flooded the Hillary blogs and sites for months now. The difference is that we’re not being paid for it. Obama’s blog trolls are salaried. If you watch some of the larger sites (like No Quarter) you can even tell when their shifts change. The message of the day is pretty much the same and their tactics are similar.
PUMA is an interesting rebel movement. I’ve long said that I have felt the stirrings of a new women’s movement only to be belittled with charges that it could neve result in a backlash quasi-championed by the Anti-choice McCain with his surly sexist jokes and insulting names for women, including wife Cindy. However, this belies the major point. It’s a backlash and a protest. No one said that actions rooted in anger and injustice make sense. They are results driven more than dogma driven.
The biggest thing I’ve noticed about the PUMA movement that is ignored by the Obama folks is the incredible amount of diversity in the ranks. It is not a movement of just white women. There are women of many backgrounds as well as many men. I can provide blog names of gay men, African Americans, Asian-Americans, straight men, Americans of middle eastern and Indian descent, Native Americans, and every flavor of Latin/Hispanic American possible. Here’s a link to Riverdaughter’s The Confluence showing a MAWN speaking to Fox and protestors at the unity event that includes (shock!) ANTI WAR PROTESTORS!

Many of us (including me) have signed up for the movement and are in for the long haul. We cannot sit idly by and watch the DNC make a mockery of the democratic process.

My Top Ten List: Why I’m not Voting for Obama
Posted: June 23, 2008 Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: Ayers, Obama Liar, Obama lies, PUMA, Pumateer, Rebecaa Traister, Rezko, Top Ten List, Why I'm not voting for Obama 11 Comments
On so many levels, Obama supporters don’t get why so many of us refuse to consider Obama a ‘reasonable’ alternative to Hillary Clinton. Most of the arguments for Obama come down to the hopie changie equation or the similiarity in stated positions. I have to say that because the overwhelming number of not voting or present votes in his past leave you relying on his word.
I was sent to a link at salon.com to look at a long list telling me why I’m not supporting Obama. To my shock (not!), NONE of my actual reasons were listed. Also, NONE of the actual reasons that I hear from my Puma allies were listed either.
Here it is:
http://www.salon.com/opinion/feature/2008/06/23/clinton_voters/
I’m amazed at how many younger women are turning on their mothers in an almost pathological way. It’s as if there’s another generation gap opening. It appears to be a different sort than I had with my mother when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s. I guess being called a ‘Pumateer’ is belittling. I’m going to ask my 18 year old or 25 year old daughter what being a ‘buzzkill’ implies. Here’s a sample quote:
“But why do you keep hearing all these stories about grumpy old ladies still hung up on Hillary Clinton, the ones who’re threatening to make a scene at the Democratic convention in Denver, or vote for John McCain in November?
To be fair, it’s not just women. There are plenty of Clinton supporters of every demographic description who are still ticked. But yes, it’s true that the Clinton base skewed female, and that women over 30 are the most vocal of the malcontents. Some of them are calling themselves “PUMAs” (as in “Party Unity My Ass”), an acronym that makes them sound, appropriately enough, like cougars in a very bad mood. Who are these women, and why are they such buzzkills?”
Why am I considered a malcontent? Why can’t I just be called a high information voter that likes to be told the truth every once in awhile?
Here’s her opined reasons why I’m not voting for Obama:
1. They are angry because their candidate lost a close contest.
2. They are angry because their historic opportunity is over.
3. They are angry about rumors that Obama may choose a woman other than Hillary Clinton as his running mate.
4. They are angry that we started to talk about sexism only once Clinton stopped being a threat.
5. They are angry at the media’s repeated denial of sexism, and they are angry at Keith Olbermann.
6. They are mad at Howard Dean.
7. They are mad at Barack Obama.
8. They are mad at Bill Clinton. Um, obviously.
10. They are mad at Hillary Clinton for conceding and not taking their fight on to Denver.
11. They are mad that everyone believes them to be old, white and racist. They are mad at the people they thought were supposed to be progressives for treating them badly.
9. They are mad at Mark Penn.
12. And finally, they are angry because they feel they are held hostage by the party by their reproductive organs.
Ms Traister, I spend a lot of time with ‘Pumateers”. I’m sorry you consider me a “buzzkill” but you should listen up because I’m going to say this with the voices of 18 million voters (not all women btw) behind me. You’ll notice not ONE of my ten reasons is on your list.
Here are my top 10 reasons why I’m not voting for Barrack Obama:
1. His has specious pastors and associates (Rezko, Ayers, Wright, Farakhan, Michelle Obama …).
2. When he’s off the teleprompter and in a debate, he shows no understanding of policy–especially foreign policy and diplomacy.
3. Whenever there is a vote on something difficult, he doesn’t vote or he votes present so he says things but does nothing.
4. His list of achievements can be summed up in one bullet point: getting into office, jobs, and schools on something less than merit and hard work.
5. His demeanor reminds me of Dubya. He is smug, arrogant and when questioned comes off as some one whose entitled to NOT be questioned on anything.
6. He got his house and side yard in a sweet heart deal with his friend Rezko, the felon.
7. He got his two terms in the Il. state legislature by getting his opponents thrown out on technicalities and got the U.S. senate position when his Republican opponent quit when his supposedly sealed divorce records got opened mysteriously.
8. Michigan primary (sic): If he can get pledged delegates by not being on the ballot, then I want some Michigan pledged delegates too. Basically I hate injustice and every thing the RBC and the DNC did to rig the nomination for him falls into that heading.
9. He says he will negotiate with leaders of rogue nations which is just one of the reasons he’s been endorsed by the likes of Kim Jong Il, Khadafi, Hamas, Fidel Castro …
and the number 10 reason I’m not voting for Obama:
