Thursday Reads

Good Morning Sky Dancers!!

I’m still under the weather, but I’m going to post some stories for you to check out today. I talk to my doctor this afternoon; I hope she will have some suggestions for me. I’ve mentioned before that I have rheumatoid arthritis, but I have also had sciatic nerve pain for years. Apparently, the two are related, at least in that they involve inflammation. This is the worst it has ever been. I’d be very grateful if you would keep me in your thoughts.

I hope your doctor can find some better combination of meds. Love you too! This post is fine!!!!! Your health is more important than anything!

She increased the methotrexate. I’ve been doing some reading and exercises on pain management. My sister has been a big help. Both of my sisters have chronic pain.

Thinking of you, BB! I hope the increased dose will help. Methotrexate is very effective at squashing inflammation; it’s finding the right dose that takes some time. Titrating up slowly helps avoid side effects.

Don’t worry about us — take care of yourself.

Take care BB! I have a touch of all that too and it’s no fun.

Hope the weather isn’t too cold up there. It’s absolutely glorious here. Happy Fall everyone!

I think Trump’s presidential pursuit is all about getting money to the Trump coffers.

“The highly partisan, Communist-style ‘select committee’ has put forth an outrageously broad records request that lacks both legal precedent and legislative merit,” said Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich in a statement. “Executive privilege will be defended, not just on behalf of President Trump and his administration, but also on behalf of the Office of the President of the United States and the future of our nation.”

          What a moron.

        • quixote's avatar quixote says:

The other thing lacking precedent is a “president” committing every crime he conveniently could while in office.

So, you can’t pursue presidential criming because no other recent president has been a criminal?

Wonder if his attorneys are asking for their legal fees to be paid upfront?

            He’s pathetic but still dangerous.

Here’s a website where you put in your location, scenario, and vax status of participants to get a risk value for that situation. May be useful.

The old man’s weekly brewery visit with his beer club is very high risk. So sad.

microcovid.org is the site. My answers are in the above link.

Sigh. Republicans are up to their usual tantrumming tactic.

White House to tell agencies to prepare for possible shutdown

Almost all Republican lawmakers have so far lined up in opposition of Democrats’ proposal to fund government operations and suspend the debt ceiling. In asking agencies to prepare for a possible shutdown, administration officials said such warnings reflect normal protocol.

    • quixote's avatar quixote says:

McConnell’s shtick is that Dems control everything, so they’re just gonna have to do this without the Repubs.

But as a bright wit pointed out, the Dems ARE trying to raise the debt ceiling by themselves. The Repubs are BLOCKING them.

Biden needs to get on that bully pulpit he’s supposed to have somewhere, once an hour perhaps, and grind it into people’s heads that the Repubs are BLOCKING. The Dems are SOLVING.

Once McConnell feels the crowd turning againt him, he’ll fold like a cheap suit.
