Marc Chagall: Over the Town, 1918

Good Morning Sky Dancers!!

This will be a short post, because I got hit with a severe migraine this morning for the first time in ages. I’m feeling too woozy to write much, so here are some links to check out:

NBC News: Desiree Linden, first U.S. woman to win Boston Marathon in 33 years, is ‘on cloud nine.’

Great long read at The New Yorker: A Voyage Along Trump’s Wall. Canoeing the Rio Grande reveals how life and a landscape would be changed along the border.

The Washington Post: Pruitt upgraded to a larger, customized SUV with bullet-resistant seat covers,

The Verge: Broadband adviser picked by FCC Chairman Ajit Pai arrested on fraud charges.

The Guardian: Scientists accidentally create mutant enzyme that eats plastic bottles.

Politico: Trump Administration Wants to Shut Door on Abused Women.

Politico: Cambridge Analytica created own quizzes to harvest Facebook data.

Not just in Philly. USA Today: Black man videotapes Starbucks’ refusal to let him use restroom.

Axios: Trump and Abe’s scandal-stained summit.

The Washington Post: Why President Trump can’t get the best people.

AP: Defending Trump in Russia probe? It’s hardly a dream job.

So sorry for the brief post. I will check back later on if I’m feeling better.

    Have a nice day everyone!

Hope that migraine leaves soon, BB – feel better!

Hope you’re better very soon BB! Thanks for the links – the therapy dog at the NBC News link about Desiree Linden is priceless.

And whoa there are enzymes that eat plastic!?!

      • quixote says:

This is a new thing. They found a bacterium in a Japanese plastics dump which was actually eating the plastic. Once they realized that, they studied it and found the enzyme it had modified to do that. It’s related to the one some bacteria use to digest cutin, a waxy tough coating on plants. Then when the researchers were trying to do something else entirely (forget what it was) they found out their newer form of the enzyme was even better at digesting plastic. Science can be cool 😀

Does anyone absorbing today’s news feel the overwhelming need for a shower?

Porn stars, Playboy bunnies, abortions, possible “love child”, fixers, money laundering, collusion, corruption, adultery, lies, lies, lies, self dealing, all attached to the current occupant of the Oval Office who lacks the sense to resign on behalf of the public he supposedly serves.

I am still not clear what Stormy Daniels and her lawyer are after. She had a one night stand over 10 years ago and took $130,000 to remain silent. Now it may have broken campaign finance laws but her involvement should be less about her then the fixer who paid her off. But there she is, marching herself off to the courthouse while her attorney remarks at “how proud” he is of her courage. What?

Then the Playboy bunny who had an 8 month affair with Trump is all over the dial explaining her relationship with a married man that today she feels “guilty” about. Jayzus!

We all are quite aware of what a sleaze is our POTUS. No surprises there. But in both cases these women consensually agreed to a relationship then took money to keep quiet. Typical.

But how about paying more attention to the businessmen and women Trump has “stiffed” over the years? Some of these people went out of business as a result of his unwillingness to pay. Or those dupes who bought into Trump University? How about attention paid to those truly hurt by their dealings with Trump?

Other then charging more for a ticket that permits the patron to watch her strip, I am still in the dark to what it is that Stormy Daniels is demanding. Lifting the “do not disclose” language is no big deal. We all know now what transpired. I do not need anymore proof that Trump is a lying pig.

Bring me the proof of collusion. Expose the corruption that is the Trump brand. Contradict the lies being fed to us by the hour. But spare me anymore of Stormy Daniels, her famewhore lawyer, and any and all women who have wedded, bedded, or “dated” Donald Trump. She supposedly has “proof” of the size and contour of Trump’s “junk”. Is this what we all have been waiting for?

    My sensibilities are shot.

I can understand your position on the Daniel’s story for sure but I think it does matter insofar as it illustrates tRump’s corruption and dishonesty. Michael Cohen’s behavior in all this and the physical threat to her are just straight up slimy and thuggish. My understanding was that it was more than a one-night stand and they were together at a golf tournament and again in L.A. at some bungalow? GAH – I don’t even want to think about the details (yes a shower would be good now).

If nothing else, stories like this should enable Dems to survive GOPer bullying after this train wreck of an administration is over.

    • palhart says:

Pat, she wants the contract declared by a court to be null and void so she can di$close, di$close, di$close in a book, tv shows, magazines, and so on.

    • quixote says:

I’m betting her lawyer suggested she show up to give Cohen the heeby-jeebies, and I bet it worked beautifully for that. Plus it keeps her case in the limelight. Plus it attracts a zillion cameras which also must give Cohen the heebyjeebies.

I can easily see her doing that. These people not only threatened her. They threatened her daughter. And now she can make them crawl under a rock just by visibly existing. Payback.

  3. NW Luna says:

“bullet-resistant seat covers” Hahahaha. Uargh. Who does this dick-head think he is?

    • Enheduanna says:

He’s frightfully paranoid. Conservatives tend to be more fearful – they’ve proved that over and over, but he truly takes the cake.

  4. NW Luna says:

    Glad the assaulter got arrested.

    • Enheduanna says:

Glad they arrested her and she’s getting lots of criticism on her Facebook business page. Too bad her kids take after her.

    • quixote says:

So first she’s parking in a handicapped spot she doesn’t need, and then she and her kids get abusive because a car interfered with them quickly getting into the spot they didn’t need.

As CPierce would say, these are the mole people.

I’d say the fact that they’re vets or pregnant is irrelevant. None of this is any way to treat anybody.

    • quixote says:

Well, a) a fairly nondescript face, and b) the threatener Stormy said was shorter than 6′,. Whatshisname is 6’4″. So, probably not, even though I gather he’s plenty obnoxious enough.

      • quixote says:

saw something this morning that suggests it’s one of Donnie-boy’s “bodyguards.” The picture looked quite plausible. And if it is, strange that the guy would be freelancing in a case the Dump knows *nothing* about.

If you made a diagram using string instead of drawn lines to illustrate the relationships between all these treasonous grifters you’d be tied up in a spiderweb. Scratch one, and another corrupt colluder gets itchy.

Beatrix “Betty” Hamburg, a medical educator and researcher who was the first openly black student admitted to Vassar College, the first black woman to graduate with a medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine and who helped advance the concept of peer counseling during a career focused on child and adolescent psychiatry, died April 15 at her daughter’s home in Washington. She was 94.
