Off key in just so many ways, it’s hard to keep track …

I think self-crowned “male feminists”, the people who are on a jihad should take a deep braith:

Cain details gesture that led to sex accusation

Van Susteren asked what Cain did that led to the accusation. There were reportedly more than one accusations in the complaint, but Cain said he recalled just one incident. “She was in my office one day, and I made a gesture saying — and I was standing close to her — and I made a gesture saying you are the same height as my wife. And I brought my hand up to my chin saying, ‘My wife comes up to my chin.'” At that point, Cain gestured with his flattened palm near his chin. “And that was put in there [the complaint] as something that made her uncomfortable,” Cain said, “something that was in the sexual harassment charge.”

Van Susteren asked whether the woman complained at the time. “I can’t recall any comment that she made, positive or negative.”

I don’t know what happened and I think it’s premature to declare that the accusations are baseless, especially now that we know that there was at least one payment.

at least Joe Biden isn’t going to hide the accusers in a hotel room

I asked everyone in my family not to vote for Joe Biden as he is responsible to putting Clarence Thomas (woman hater, thinks corporations are people) in the Supreme Court.

Clarence Thomas is no Thurgood Marshall!

He asked an employee to come on up to his hotel room… Lucy ‘Herman Cain’ got some splaining to do here… and yes, that goodness Joe Biden isn’t or wasn’t anywhere near the two women, lest they be painted liars as was Anita Hill.

I’d hate to be the lip of the woman sitting next to the podium. It looked like she was biting it so hard to keep from laughing that she almost bit right through it.

And here I thought the Republicans could never come up with a candidate as hilarious as Dan Quayle or Dubya, but I’m reminded that we must never underestimate them!

Oh no. He sang at the National Press Conference? Is this what we could expect with a Cain in the WH? At Press Conferences? LOL. I’m hearing and picturing that right now

The problem with all these religious right-wing candidates and supporters is they immediately set themselves up for disaster. If lurid details come out on these cases, it’s over for Cain. If we find out that there were multiple payoffs, it’s over for Cain. Unless he’s a great, great explainer. So far, I’m not impressed.

You can’t stand on the self-righteous mountaintop or run for the WH without expecting absolute scrutiny [unless you’re Obama, that is]. I’ve read many right-wing posts today bringing up Bill Clinton and the Lewinsky affair. But Bill Clinton never tried to paint himself as ‘super-Christian’ or Mr. Morality plus and there were plenty of stories well before Clinton was elected. Bill Clinton liked women. Women liked Bill Clinton. End of story.

But I find it strange that Karl Rove is out there, banging away at Cain after the ‘leak.’. Herman Cain is clearly ‘not’ the establishment pick. I agree with Juan Williams that this is very likely a GOP leak to knock Cain’s numbers down.

You know what keeps scaring me? I was around when Goldwater ran. (In 1964, was it?) We all thought he was the craziest loon on the planet. Admittedly, that was in Cambridge, Mass, but still. That was the outer limit of gonzo that we could imagine.

Now he’s a pillar of rationality. Even to me, he sounds very rational and intelligent.

And this is the scary part: if I think back very carefully, I know he hasn’t changed.

The GOP race is frickin’ Clown College!!!

Thanks for posting this, Dak. I needed a laugh today.

Is it wrong of me to secretly wish that Cain becomes the Republican nominee? I would just love to hear the Republicans I know justify voting for him. Honestly, I think people could rationalize voting for Palin easier than they could rationalize voting for this fool.

I know that this man will not get the GOP nomination. I keep saying this like a mantra. In the meantime, it’s so sad and surreal to watch this reality show election which is going to go on for another year. I read somewhere recently that the GOP candidates and final nominee will end up collectively spending around a billion dollars when this is all over. Also, I love the Barry G. quotation.

I’m pretty sure that all the bad stuff on Cain and Perry is coming from the Rove part of the party that wants to see Romney win the nomination. You can never get poor, though, underestimating the GOP base these days.

‘One of the woman was asked to come up to Herman Cain’s hotel’ and ‘There were separate two 5 figure settlements.’ via CNN
    Herman Cain come clean! GOP

  10. Goldwater has little in common with today’s conservatives. The same was true for William F. Buckley, who actually dropped the label in the 90s when he identified himself as a libertarian. I have no doubt that would be true for Au H2O if he were here today. A moderate libertarian to be sure! 🙂
