Bill Clinton is a PUMA!

From the UK Telegraph:

Bill Clinton says Barack Obama must

‘kiss my ass’ for his support

Bill Clinton is so bitter about Barack Obama’s victory over his wife Hillary that he has told friends the Democratic nominee will have to beg for his wholehearted support.

Bill Clinton; Bill Clinton says Barack Obama must 'kiss my ass' for his support
AP
Bill Clinton is still very bitter that Barack Obama beat his wife Hillary

Mr Obama is expected to speak to Mr Clinton for the first time since he won the nomination in the next few days, but campaign insiders say that the former president’s future campaign role is a “sticking point” in peace talks with Mrs Clinton’s aides.

The Telegraph has learned that the former president’s rage is still so great that even loyal allies are shocked by his patronising attitude to Mr Obama, and believe that he risks damaging his own reputation by his intransigence.

A senior Democrat who worked for Mr Clinton has revealed that he recently told friends Mr Obama could “kiss my ass” in return for his support.

A second source said that the former president has kept his distance because he still does not believe Mr Obama can win the election.

Mr Clinton last week issued a tepid statement, through a spokesman, in which he said he “is obviously committed to doing whatever he can and is asked to do to ensure Senator Obama is the next president of the United States “.

Mr Obama was more effusive at his unity event with Mrs Clinton on Friday, speaking fondly of the absent former president, who attended Nelson Mandela’s birthday celebrations in London instead. The candidate told the crowd: “I know how much we need both Bill and Hillary Clinton as a party. They have done so much great work. We need them badly.”

But his aides said he has so far concentrated on cementing relations with Mrs Clinton first. They say they are content to let relations with Mr Clinton thaw gradually.

It has long been known that Mr Clinton is angry at the way his own reputation was tarnished during the primary battle when several of his comments were interpreted as racist.

But his lingering fury has shocked his friends. The Democrat told the Telegraph: “He’s been angry for a while. But everyone thought he would get over it. He hasn’t. I’ve spoken to a couple of people who he’s been in contact with and he is mad as hell.

“He’s saying he’s not going to reach out, that Obama has to come to him. One person told me that Bill said Obama would have to quote kiss my ass close quote, if he wants his support.

“You can’t talk like that about Obama – he’s the nominee of your party, not some house boy you can order around.

“Hillary’s just getting on with it and so should Bill.”

Another Democrat said that despite polls showing Mr Obama with a healthy lead over Republican John McCain, Mr Clinton doesn’t think he can win.

The party strategist, who was allied to one of the early rivals to Mr Obama and the former First Lady, said Mr Clinton was “very unhopeful” about the nominee’s prospects in November.

“Bill Clinton knows the party will unite behind Obama, but he is telling people he doesn’t believe Obama can win round voting groups, especially working-class whites, in the swing states,” the strategist said.

“He just doesn’t think Obama will be able to connect with the voters he needs.”

Joe Klein, the author of Primary Colours, a fictionalised account of Mr Clinton’s 1992 election, who has known the former president for 20 years, said he also heard that he was “very, very bitter”, from people who have spoken with him.

Have I mentioned enough on this blog yet HOW MUCH I LOVE THE BRITS?

“It’s time for him to get over it or go off and do his charitable work. He knows the rules of the road. What’s going on now is kind of strange. I think his behaviour is really, really shocking.”

Why should Bill Clinton “get over it?”
    Why should anybody?
I’m really beginning to hate that phrase.
Whether he won fair and square is not nearly the only or most important question for me.
What concerns me most is my certainty that if elected, Barack Obama won’t have a freaking clue about what to do.
    That’s scary.
And that’s what ticks me off.
That’s probably what ticks Bill Clinton off, too.

  3. dameliz's avatar dameliz says:

It i is the ultimate INSULT to expect a former successful Governor and highly 2nd term Pres of the USA who brought Properity and Peace and who in turn had much success abroad – who is respected worldwide – to endorse an unknown candidate with undesireable associations for more than 20 yrs. Sen Clinton has been blackmailed into endorsing Mr. Barack Husaein Obama for Pres. including the DNC.

There is a reason that President Bill Clinton is admired, respected and loved all over the world.

What Jessie Jackson Jr. , Clyburn, Donna, Obama and his campaign , Dean, Pelosi , Kennedy, Kerry, all pushed the Racist mime against Bill and Hillary . That went way………………..beyond campaigning. They along with the MSM went out of their way to destroy not only Hillary but Bill’s legacy and push them out of the Party.

For me that is UNFORGIVEABLE. I try to forgive most things but will never forget what they have done.
And on a daily basis they are still dissing both Hillary and Bill. Talk radio and late night show, and MSM.
    It is beyond the pale!

Don’t get over it get even.

The *get over it* meme is getting old. If anyone deserves to be pissed off, it is Big Dawg. His reputation was dragged through the mud by BO and now everyone is *concerned* about his reputation. I fully support him telling BO and the DNC to kiss his ass. No one has worked harder for the Democratic Party and Democrats than Big Dawg. For Christ’s sake, he got out of a hospital bed after having his chest cracked open to campaign for that loser, John Kerry, only to have him stab him in the back. Big Dawg does not need the Democrats. He has transcended that bullshit. He is an international hero, loved around the world. He got 2 fingers in the eyes from Dean, Pelosi, Brazille and the rest of that gang of thieves. Good for Big Dawg. I am thrilled that he has turned his back on that crowd and told them to fuck off.

Big Dawg is a P.U.M.A. Awesome!

  6. JS Ruby's avatar JS Ruby says:

I agree Bill should tell BO to “kiss my ass”. BO’s campaign focused on painting Bill as a racist and other negative thoughts. I wish Bill and Hillary would just walk away from the BO train wreck. The DNC etc are going to look really stupid in the fall.

I guess the MSM will actually start reporting on BO’s errors at some point?

  7. Mary B's avatar Mary B says:

Bill shouldn’t have to “get over” anything. Obama, his campaign surrogates, Dean, Brazile, Clyburn, Pelosi, just about every person associated with the UnDemocratic Party owes Bill a huge apology for how they portrayed his statements as being racist. If you read them in context they are nothing of the sort.

I will never get over what happened during the primary campaign. Bill and Hillary shouldn’t get over it either. And I can only hope and pray that they tell the DNC and everyone else to kiss their ass. That is exactly what I’ve done.

I respect Bill now more than I ever did before. A real emotion coming forth from a politician. I also do not believe Obama can win and I certainly don’t think he should. By November, my guess is, many supporters
of Obama will be embarrassed and disappointed in their candidate.

  10. antifish's avatar antifish says:

President Clinton has every right to be outraged over what happened during the primary. Not only was he maligned and painted as a racist by the Obama campaign, but Obama wasted no opportunity to denigrate the Clinton administration. Further, Obama’s collusion with party insiders, many of them former Clinton administration officials, to force Senator Clinton out of the race, cannot be sitting well with him.

I hope he doesn’t “get over it”. I hope he tells all the Democrats to kiss his ass and starts a new centrist party. He should be the first recipient of the Honorary Puma Award! I love you, Bill!

In what alternate universe would a proud man, husband and father, be forced to witness the equivalent of an extended gang-rape of his spouse which was internationally witnessed and then be expected to champion the ringleader of the atrocity? This goes so far beyond President Clinton’s status in the U.S. and abroad, beyond politics and campaigning, beyond Senator Clinton being handicapped and savaged out of the running. How do decent people witness the foul spectacle of what was said and done to Senator Clinton, her daughter, and essentially to the female sex in the name of “winning” and then give kudos to Senator Obama who led the attacks and sat back while others did the dirty work? It’s beyond the capacity of a sane mind to comprehend.

The bullsh*t he and his wife had to suffer at the hands of Barack Obama and his democratic henchmen was unbelievable!

You both have an ENORMOUS following of honest Americans–you don’t need that UNdemocratic Party. LEAVE THEM! We are all at your feet.

  15. miriam's avatar miriam says:

Agree with all the above comments. Bill Clinton will be seen by history as one of our best presidents, and he deserved, at the very least, some respect from The Boy Wonder. He got none. And if Bill Clinton has strong doubts about Obama’s ability to win in November, the Democratic Party had damn well better listen to him. Obviously it won’t, or it wouldn’t have subverted the Democratic values to hand the nomination to Obama. Be assured, though, that when he loses the general election the political genuises like Pelosi, Dean, and Brazile will blame the Clintons.

Obama is a hater of America with his America and white and jewish hating church. I too, would like to know who these Democrats supposedly are, who are saying these things-if they really are.

It must have been very difficult for Bill Clinton to stand by and listen to his presidency being impugned. And it must have been even more difficult to listen to the MSM and Obarkey impugn his spouse’s reputation at every turn with their sexist cries and brow beating. He stood up for his wife as any good spouse should.

My only hope is he doesn’t hold onto the anger too long if that is what he is feeling because it is not good for the soul. However if he is hurt to the quick Bill needs time to heal.

If he doesn’t hit the road for Obarky that is okay. Remember when Gore ran he didn’t think he needed Bill so Bill never stumped for him despite the offers.

Obama is a NOBODY who didn’t have the spine to even vote on some 150 occasions, who never wants to take a stand, who is scared of drama, who panders.
And he wants the greatest living president to make nice with him after he spent 9 months trashing him and his wife?!

I salute Bill and wholeheartedly support him for having some damn integrity in rejecting the punk that spit on his hard-earned legacy. Why should Bill, a succesfull two-term president, bow down to “the nominee of the party?” After he smeared them, and was complicit in the entire party stabbing them in the back? Finally, a Democratic leader who is telling the truth. I hope Obama DOESN’T reach out to Bill. Let him sink on his own. Why should Big Dawg help him? I am simply appalled by the way they were treated. One of the many reasons I am no longer a member of the Democratic Party and will not vote for Obama. The Clintons have more than paid their dues. For example, he’s missed the story of Obama and his cousin Odingo. Obama gave a lot of help to his cousin Odingo so he could get elected as Prime Minister. Obama even sent Dick Morris over to help him. Shortly thereafter, there was an extended period of ‘ethnic cleansing’ where hundreds of christians and native africans were killed. This was a direct result of the actions of both Obama and Odingo. So, let’s see, who exactly is a mass murderer is in the eye of the beholder. Ben’s moral compass has an off on switch that he flips for inconvenient realities so as better to focus on the morality plays in his mind.

Ben, remember the story about the Buddha and the sailor? The sailor was upset because he knew in order to save many lives, he had to take the life of the captain of his ship. (Trainer: “Obama!”
Partisan hack: “Yip yap yip yap! (continued angry barking)” or the partisan hack begins salivating profusely, depending upon which side of the Great and Historic Clinton/Obama dust-up she/he falls.)

    D,
I don’t really care whether Obama helped someone get elected, or whether upon his election, the other major tribe began ethnic cleansing. This hero worshipping is an exercise in (hilarious) stupidity, and I’m not going to take part in Judean People’s Front vs People’s Front of Judea-style idiotic infighting. http://youtube.com/watch?v=gb_qHP7VaZE

Posting ritual denunciations of the opposing candidate
    (P1: “I hate Obama!”
    P2: “So do I!”
    P3: “We all hate him!”
    P4: “Independent thought feels good!”)
is not an exercise in subtle nuance. Throwing the captain off may be justified, but encouraging the human equivalent of poodles, chihuahuas and other small, noisome dogs to come have a Three Minute Hate (read 1984?) against the opposing candidate in a minor, partisan catfight is going below the waterline with a high-efficiency drill, at least for one’s honor and intellectual integrity.

President William Jefferson Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton has done so much for this great country and it’s people! It is disgusting the way they were treated in the Primaries, in the mainstream media and sabotaged by their own fellow Democrats!

Both the backers of Obama and the DNC have been trying to negate President Clinton for the past 8 years.

They have surprisingly been more ruthless and more pernicious than conservatives in trying to erase his legacy, especially this election cycle.

The fact that he was, and he and Hillary now are, our only winner/winners drives the want-to-bes nuts. Everything about the Clintons dramatically points out how Obama, his backers, and the DNC are losers, and pretenders.

I feel that the best way to make him aware of our support may be to have a sudden influx of donations and/or correspondence to both the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Library.

I think a flood of such would make it obvious that we support his stance and hope he stays as far away from helping Obama as possible.

I donated to both before writng this post.

I thought I was reading a serious newspaper; most articles looked reasonable. Then I came across their “expose” of Hillary’s supposed involvement in Vince Foster’s murder. I think they would print anything, anything, true or false, in hopes of making either of the Clintons look bad.

I have to admit, though, I get a kick out of imagining Bill saying “kiss my ass” to BO!

    Re: No Deal

As I declared, this year’s election was over when Senator Obama wrote a $2300 check as a “gesture” to Senator Hillary Clinton.

It could be acceptable if Obama offered such “gesture” to Hillary right after the nomination fight or even before hiring Solis Dolye. When voters complained, then Obamas wrote $4600.

Obama does not have any fundamental, basic morality and human dignity. If you betray such basic morality, then you are not worth of being any politicians. Voters want real people who have sense of morality and loyalty.

If I were Hillary, I would not accept any offer of being his VP or “compromise” any offers whatsoever. She fought hard, under such constrained rules, to prove that Obama is not qualified. Putting a one-line “VP job” does not help her political career.

This year’s Election depends on Independents and Women. Voters do not buy any false promises or compromised deals that offend our basic principles and values as Americans. If Obama thought that Hillary can be retired by money, then he made a serious mistake by selling voices of 18 million voters.

The Democratic Party also should pick a different date for its Convention: Obama is neither Black nor Liberal. Do not insult Dr. Martin L. King’s legacy of Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Dr. King’s message of “hope and dream” has nothing to do with Obama’s message of “change”—if you remember how many times he has changed his words and deeds so far.

I hope it is ok to post an excerpted article here, I find it very fitting re the subject of Bill Clinton and who he is. I apologize for the length.

I also feel it has even more credibility thansuch an article normally might have, due to the fact that the author is a staunch conservative. Not the average fan of Bill.

It was written during the week the Obama campaign started trying to label Clinton as a racist:

Bill Clinton, the last Black President

“Okay, time to have a little lesson in history. Bill Clinton is no racist. Sorry, everybody pile on and have your fun, but that pig just won’t fly. And this is coming to you from one who was raised as an evangelical Christian and is a political conservative, who worked in a Republican White House but who has also dedicated himself to 20 years of research into presidential families.

It is now my duty to step into this firestorm of unanimous “Bill Bashing” to make a tiny correction. If no one listens, well, then this is just for the record.
So gather round liberals, Black activists, Obama supporters, self righteous Kennedys, frightened, gutless editors, Hornblowers and Bolgers, Goodbodys and Proudfoots, eh, sorry, Proudfeet, and lets review the facts of history.

If Bill Clinton is a racist …

    – Why did Toni Morrison call him the first Black president?

    – Why did he have a Black campaign manager? Obama doesn’t.

    – Why did he appoint Blacks to 300 of the top positions of government in his first year in office, by far more than any other president in history?

    – Why did he spend most of the Sunday’s of his life in Black churches listening to two hour sermons from Black pastors?

    – Why did he appoint more Black federal judges than any president in American history?

    – Why did he never have a political event, a private party or a state dinner without blacks there too?

    – Why did he advocate and advance more Black initiatives than any president with maybe the exception of Lyndon Johnson, and that includes John F. Kennedy, by the way.

    – When he retired, why did he move his presidential offices into Harlem?

Since George Washington, former presidents dutifully retired into oblivion. In the 18th century it mean a few years back on the farm. In the 19th century they took world tours. Grant did, the Lincolns were planning one. In the 20th century, Teddy Roosevelt went to Africa on safari, to kill lions.

Even into modern times presidents retired to private lives. Truman, Eisenhower and Nixon were never seen tromping off to displaced persons camps or holding starving black children in their arms.

Now, I love Ronald Reagan and he did some very nice things for a charity I co-founded, and G. H. W. Bush has turned down some lucrative speaking gigs to help raise money for floods and tsunamis. That’s all new for a retired Republican by the way and should surely be applauded. And Jimmy Carter always wins the former presidents’ awards.

I also appreciate what he and former president Bush, Senior have done for my charity. There is just something pure and wonderful about seeing Carter up on a roof pounding nails instead of using a power point presentation at a board meeting of a charitable trust.

But the truth is this, for every nail Jimmy Carter pounds into the roof of a new home for an overweight American living below our exalted poverty level, there are a thousand starving Black babies in Africa who owe their very lives to the work of Bill Clinton. It is more than Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton could ever do for their own.

Here is a remarkable thought. It is very likely, as of right now, that Bill Clinton has raised more money for charity than all of the retired American presidents in all of American history combined. And the biggest share of that fundraising has gone to Africans in need, ignored by most of the world.

Bill Clinton is no racist. What is truly shameful, but typical, is that I have to be the one to remind you of this.

Yes, he may have made some missteps this week while campaigning in SC, but we don’t really know the details. I have been on the receiving end of mindless stories where everyone is sure they know what they are talking about and where hypocritical people look sanctimonious and people doing their job look bad and none of the detail or circumstances or context is really known and the media spins it for their own selfish ulterior purposes, unseen by the public.

Life is complicated, especially politics. Billy Graham made mistakes in his conversations with Nixon, in his illegally retained income investigated during the 1970’s but it doesn’t mean he isn’t Billy Graham.

An innocent Mother Theresa was scandalized when it was learned she had leant her name and picture to fraudulent fundraisers. But it doesn’t mean she was no longer Mother Theresa, a saint. And this week does not mean that Bill Clinton is not Bill Clinton.

In their understandable rush to get a Black president into the White House, the Black community would do well to pause and think about the last time they had a Black president.

There is no way that Barack Obama can do more for you, appoint more judges, pass out more programs than Clinton did. In fact, you know he will have to do the very opposite to prove he can govern all groups, not just yours.

You know, with all your pride in his ascendency that you are destined for some disappointments and unrealized expectations if he wins and you leaders now lambasting Bill Clinton will probably have less face time in the Roosevelt Room with Barack Obama than you ever had under Ronald Reagan. You know that will be coming if he wins.

So perhaps now you should slow down a bit and consider the record of a man who has loved you all his life. If he had been president he would never have been too busy or too remote to leave you stranded on rooftops in a New Orleans flood, in 90 degree heat, without water or toilets. He would have been there immediately, at your side.

And now that it is his turn to be stranded up there alone for a few hours or days, until this story passes, you would do well to go to his side, no matter who you eventually support for president.

Even if Barack Obama should win, you may one day come to realize that Bill Clinton was not only the first but also the last “Black president” you ever had in your lifetime and he certainly does not deserve to be called a racist.

SO, VOTERS—UNITE BEHIND US THE ‘NEW AMERICAN PARTY’—EMBRACE THE BEST OF THE LEFT, THE RIGHT & FIND A HOME IN THE MIDDLE WITH HILLARY CLINTON IN NOVEMBER. JOIN US. VOTE HILLARY CLINTON IN NOVEMBER & RECLAIM A PIECE OF THE AMERICAN DREAM. A PIECE OF OUR FORGOTTEN PRIDE. A PIECE OF OUR ‘CAN DO’ SPIRIT.

BUT DON’T THINK IT WILL BE EASY– IT WON’T. WE MUST FIGHT FOR IT, CALL OUR FRIENDS, WRITE OUR REPRESENTATIVE & SENATORS MARCHING & DEMANDING A FAIRNESS THAT WE ALL AGREE HAS FAILED IN THE DNC, PRESS, SUPER DELEGATES & THE OBAMA CAMP WHO STOLE HILLARY’S ELECTION.

WE CAN’T HAVE FARRAKHAN FOLLOWERS STOMPING ON OUR CITIZENS & THREATENING THEM IN LINES DURING CAUCUSES. WE CAN’T HAVE RELIGIOUS ZEALOTS LIKE REV. WRIGHT SYMBOLICALLY ‘CRY FIRE’ IN A CROWDED CHURCH & GET AWAY WITH IT & then ADD INSULT TO INJURY BY GETTING TAX FREE DEDUCTIONS & A FREE PASS FOR THEIR CANDIDATE OF CHOICE—A MAN WITHOUT TRUTH, MORAL COMPASS & FILLED WITH HATE, NAMELY OBAMA.

“Democratic” radio host Ed Schultz (ed@edschultzshow.com) was horribly insulting toward Bill Clinton just now on Cambell Brown’s Election Center on CNN regarding a recent telephone call between B. O. and the former President.

    B. O. apparently recently called Bill Clinton. Now Ed says Bill NEEDS TO DO A LOT OF HARD WORK to mend differences between them. He basically said it is Bill’s duty to campaign for B. O. in the South where polls are close, etc. He also said B. O. won the election fair and square and basically that Bill has no reason whatsoever to maintain a grudge regarding HRC. It was truly like watching the Twilight Zone.

Scary, indeed. I have never seen anything like this personality cult developing around HBO, and I can remember back to Eisenhower as President!

The Bots are even defending the appalling gaffe made yesterday by Wesley Clark against McCain! I would like to know what, exactly, is it that BHO has ever done or been through comparable to McCain’s five and one half years in the Hanoi Hilton!! Who the hell does he think he is, sending his sycophantic surrogates out to denigrate McCain’s service??? Clark’s surrogates behaved similarly in 2004 when they went after John Edwards, so this is par for him, but this gaffe will bite HBO over and over in the Fall! He owns it now!!

I am a bit disturbed about the news story floating around now that HBO and Pres Clinton might reconcile. This would be very bad news; SOMEone imprtant needs to keep their sanity through all this and I am still hoping that the President is that person.

I cannot ignore the treatment that the Democratic party (DNC) gave to Hillary during the primary. I strongly feel that Howard Dean and the DNC went into the primary with an ‘Anybody But Hillary’ mentality – and that killed us. Rather than let the primary play out in whatever way it would have, the DNC got behind closed doors and waited to see who would emerge as the strongest candidate against Hillary. When it was clear that it would be Barack, Howard Dean and several others did whatever it took to ‘quietly’ work in Barack’s corner by nailing Hillary at every turn. They even got MSNBC on board and let the attack dogs loose (under the disguise of Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann). And the treatment that Hillary got from that point on – from her OWN party, I might add – was horrendous!!!

The DNC needs to learn their lesson! They can’t play favorites coming out of the gate! That’s not their job! They need to wait until a candidate is chosen and then come out of the gate.

But NO! They joined the likes of MoveOn.org – and railed against Hillary – quietly, behind closed doors, snickering the entire time.

The DNC should take a lesson from the RNC. They may not be enthusiastic about their candidate, but they have the ability to let the process play out in a FAIR way and then rank-and-file behind their candidate.

I’m so disgusted with Howard Dean and the DNC, that it may take up until November for me to ‘get over it.’ And even then, I may not be ‘over it.’

And for Bill Clinton — he should NEVER ‘get over it’ — he deserves to be ANGRY! They not only raked Hillary over the coals, they took Bill with her.

Shame on you, DNC! You deserve to lose the presidency in November!

Ted: Obama reminds me of the Banks family characters from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Carlton in particular.

    Better McCain Than Hussein !

Well, it’s either gonna be McCain/Palin or …

Barack Obama starring as “Change” the Gardener in remake of movie classic, “Being There”, starring Peter Sellers as “Chance” the Gardener!
