Thanksgiving Day Open Thread

Autumn, by Andrew Wyeth

Autumn, by Andrew Wyeth

Good Morning!!

It has been a difficult week in America. I’m not even going to post suggested reads, because there is so much violence and hate in the news. Just for today I’m choosing to be grateful to be alive and sober; to have a safe and comfortable home; and to have family to spend the holiday with. And I’m grateful for this blog and for all of you. I hope you have a nice, peaceful day today.

On Thanksgiving day this 76 year old grandmother is grateful for the years we’ve been gathering together on this blog. Peace, kindness and hope to all of you.

I just finished a mug of chocolate-caramel cocoa with homemade chocolate-caramel whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles on top. I wish everyone a day full of the feeling I’m feeling right now. 🙂

Most days I don’t feel like I know what is going on until I check in here! Thank you all!

I’ve never seen that Wyeth painting before. Essence of November.

Hot chocolate and friends 😆 What could be better? /*pulls up a chair*/

I was very surprised to discover that Wyeth painted Thanksgiving with mythical
      Native Americans and Pilgrims.

Happy day to all – just liberated my 9-yr old kitty cat from I-131 quarantine. He’s a happy boi – no longer shaking from hyperthyroid and putting weight on. A truly great day for us. Hope you are all having similar triumphs and peace. ❤️

I’m glad this space has existed for so long. Thanks, all!

I just was blessed by having two thanksgiving feasts today and I didn’t have to cook or clean anything. The neighbors that have been here for years are great. My family is all in Seattle so I’ll just have to wait for the big zoom call!

I love to read your thoughts here. I’d like a redo on the last few years for certain so we could not have so much distress, but given we can’t wind time backward, I feel fortunate to have all you in our friendship circle. Just knowing there are kindreds out there just kind’ve steels one up a bit.

Thanks for stopping by you guys. I just got home from brother’s place. We had steak and delicious sides and pie. It was fun.
