Election Day Open Thread

I voted

Good Morning Sky Dancers!

I can’t believe I slept until 10:15AM ET! That would have been 11:00 before the time changed on Sunday.

This is an open thread for anyone who wants to post links or comments. I’ll have a real morning post up as soon as I possibly can. And don’t forget we’ll have a live blog tonight to discuss the election results.

See you soon in a very late Tuesday Reads post!

While you were sleeping I voted (straight Dem right across the board!) and had my car inspected.

Looking forward to your full post later this morning.

I voted early and did the same, straight Dem right on down the ballot. I also wore my “I’m so Gay” Rainbow t-shirt to the polls and pointed at it while they were validating that I am who I say I am using the required voter ID bullshit stuff. For a few seconds I was Rosa Parks. Freedom!!!!

        Hilarious!

It was so much fun. I wore a similar t-shirt when I voted in 2012 casting my vote for Obama. I could almost see the hair on the back of peoples neck stand up. When I voted this time I got some mean looks, that if they could have killed, I would already be in the URN. Apparently there is nothing more menacing than an Old Woman sporting a rainbow.

This article from Crooks & Liars basically sums up how I feel about this election

    http://crooksandliars.com/2014/11/retired-navy-officers-message-liberals-eve

Most of us here are old enough to recognize this sort of political cycling. I knew this was coming when the MSM began to attempt to redirect our attention to “everything and anything bad happening anywhere in the world” and propagated the “blame Obama” meme. So many people are mood voters that the “Bad Obama” meme is taking a toll on Dems. Still, even with the MSM beating the OMFG Panic drums 24/7, in a mid-term election when Democrat turnout is historically low anyway, the Dems are within striking distance in many races. Will they win all those races??? No, but as the author of the article I wrote, it basically doesn’t matter. The Senate is likely to end up 51-49 GOPTP and the Repugs can’t do anything with that. It’s all theatre with a dash of smoke and mirrors and It proves the old adage “the more things change, the more they stay the same”. As long as Obama doesn’t cave on the issues that matter, and I don’t believe he will, it’s 2 more years of the same. Then HILLARY.

So, don’t worry Skydancers, Be HAPPY!!!! 🙂

Thanks, Mouse. I agree. There’s no point in getting upset and discouraged. We need to keep our eyes on the prize: Hillary in 2016!!

This whole election thingie is sooo depressing. What is happening?

The GOP is getting rewarded for sabotaging everything? Arsonists now get paid the insurance money from their victims? WTF is going on?

Why is someone as unlikable and despicable as Rick Scott even in a tight race for anything besides most unlikable and creepy?
Why isn’t Scott Brown bieng laughed off the ballot?
    Mitch McConnell?
    Joni Ernst?
James Inhofe as Senate Chair for Environment?
Jeff Session will head the Judiciary?

Kann somebody tell me what is happening?

Hi MABlue! Isn’t it awful? Lucky you to be out of this crazy country. But it’s not over yet. You never know what can happen, and the Democrats are working extra hard to get out the vote.
