Election Day Open Thread
Posted: November 5, 2013 Filed under: open thread | Tags: election day 2013 44 CommentsGood Morning Sky Dancers,
I woke up with such a splitting headache that I couldn’t even read anything, much less write. It’s a little better now, but still bad.
So here’s an open thread to start out with. If I can get rid of this headache, I’ll put up another post later on. It’s election day in some places, so here are some links about that.
CBS News: Voters head to the polls to elect governors in Va., N.J.
WaPo on Virginia governor’s race: Virginia governor’s race: early turnout strong, no significant problems at precincts
WaPo on NJ governor’s race: New Jersey voters deciding whether to give popular Republican Christie a 2nd term as governor
NYT on NYC mayoral race: De Blasio, Far Ahead in New York Mayoral Polls, Talks of Mandate; Lhota Hopes for Upset
Boston Globe on Boston mayoral race: Mayoral race tops ticket as voters head to polls

I’m going to lie down for awhile, and I’ll be back later on. Take care, everyone.
Hope you get to feeling better soon! Take care!
Take care of yourself. Be well soon,
Feel better BB.
I’m sorry you’re not feeling well, bb. I hope you start feeling better soon.
I’m very excited about the election here in Virginia. Despite a weak candidate for the Democrats, we are going to win today and take the Commonwealth back from Tea Party control. It’s a good day here and I think it’s a good indicator of what could happen in 2016.
Yup. This time they can’t say the cooch lost because he wasn’t “conservative enough” too. This should be a lesson to them but it won’t school the right set of wing nuts.
At this point I think many “true” conservatives are/have seen the Tea Party for what it is and want no part of it. Hopefully the nutcase TP’ers in the U.S. Congress and in State legislatures will meet the same fate their next election that Cooch will meet this one.
I don’t understand how you can be a conservative and a theocrat either. Nothing conservative in the US about installing a firebrand religious viewpoint into law as far as I am concerned.
“I don’t understand how you can be a conservative and a theocrat either”
It is baffling and almost as a confusing as libertarians who don’t support Choice or Gay Marriage.
BB…..Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes. I’ve slept most of the day and still have a headache and nausea. But I just had to post these links:

Obama sure comes off as a prig.
Ha,,,
Really … whoa! Wonder what Greenwald will say now!!!
Everyone else will be bootlickers of the man or something because huh.
The only question–is Greenwald a knowing participant or a patsy?
I can’t wait to hear the answer to that question. He has pooped in his nest.
Brhahahaha!!! Goddam, spies are spying on spies and Merkel is couch fainting and world leaders are going “oh, ah, no” as they all spy on each other and the wheels on the spy bus go round and round.
Wow! Here’s more on Rand’s serial plagiarism. I still can’t figure how you get through University without figuring out that this is a big NO NO
http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/section-of-rand-pauls-book-plagiarized-forbes-article
The big NO NO is not getting caught. That was probably Rand Paul’s plan.
You have to be a complete idiot to think in the day of plagiarism software and Google that you are not going to get caught.
The Koch Brothers are secretly funding the anti-choice movement’s worst offenders http://www.salon.com/2013/11/05/the_koch_brothers_are_secretly_funding_the_anti_choice_movements_worst_offenders/ …
I am convinced that if it’s absolutely shitty enough, with no redeeming quality, whatever it is the fucking Koch Brothers are secretly funding it. Colossal assholes!
Other than money, WTF is their motive for staying knee deep in reproductive politics? It’s certainly not a “Moral” issue for them because they have no morals. The Crotch brothers need to take their $50 billion of combined wealth and go frack themselves. What a waste of protoplasm they are..
BB, I hope your head starts to feel better…but think…your pain in your head is way better than the pain in the ass this guy had: Man gets anal search, colonoscopy, 3 enemas for “clenched buttocks”
This comes under the heading of I am appalled and worried. This from cross the river from me.
Terrytown boy admits emulating TV wrestling moves when killing sister, 5 http://bit.ly/1b5DtWC
Tragic and too common I’ll bet. We are awash in violence.
The cops, doctors, nurses, and anyone else who had anything to do with that should go to jail for violations of this man’s civil rights and assault. Doctors should lose licenses and judges should be disbarred. Oh, and that man should own that fucking hospital!
I have a feeling he’s going to get a very large payday. He should sue everyone involved.
OMG!!
Another reason to get happy……………shut his ass down. Rachel done good.
Just put that in the post for tomorrow…lol
It can’t get enough attention!
VA elections may turn out to be a nail biter.

That is a good sign.
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah……………Terry McAuliffe projected winner………waiting to see about Att. General………biting my nails.

Weird.
Very weird.
DeBlasio won NYC mayor.
Marty Walsh won in Boston–both candidates were Democrats, but Walsh was supported by the unions. Connolly was against the Teachers’ union.
Amazing margin for his win. I’m anxious to see if he can address the inequality issues. Jeez, that’s gonna be tough but bless him for trying.
Christie is a horrible speaker. If he runs for president, my TV will see a lot of mute. Loudmouthed cretin.
