More Jobs Bills from Republicans!!! Not!

Would the conversation that we’re having right now be illegal if this Anti-Choice Senator has his way? Does it just refer to doctors who want to discuss women’s reproductive health? Just what exactly does the first amendment mean to right winger Senator Jim DeMint? This should really show how extreme some of the religionists have become in our country. This is something I’d expect to see in oppressive religious regimes like Iran.
Anti-choice Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) just filed an anti-choice amendment to a bill related to agriculture, transportation, housing, and other programs. The DeMint amendment could bar discussion of abortion over the Internet and through videoconferencing, even if a woman’s health is at risk and if this kind of communication with her doctor is her best option to receive care.
Under this amendment, women would need a separate, segregated Internet just for talking about abortion care with their doctors.
Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, called Sen. DeMint’s actions outrageous:
What about a woman experiencing a high-risk pregnancy who is talking with her doctor through video conferencing? Under Sen. DeMint’s extreme plan, if abortion came up in that doctor-patient conversation, the woman and her physician would have to go to a separate communications system. He’s calling for an abortion-only version of Skype. It is impractical, ridiculous, and, most importantly, bad for women in rural or remote areas who would not be able to discuss the full set of options with their doctor.
Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R.358, the “Let Women Die” bill. The House has now voted on more anti-choice measures this year than in any year since 2000.
And now, anti-choice senators are saying, “Me, too!”
I am so outraged about all these interferences in women’s lives, health, and private decisions that I don’t even know what to say. Who says the Republican party hate excessive regulation and government interference in businesses and individuals lives?

Where do thesetnut jobs come from and who the hell do they think they are?
Jerks like this DeMint a-hole are damn close to treason — forcing his religious beliefs on the rest of the Nation.
Bag him, stuff him and put him on a wall and let him wait for alien pickup — he’s a throw back to the dark ages in Europe.
Talk about your “6 Degrees of Separation”, one of our Book Club members has a son who is the legistlative aide to Jim Demint. She brags about this all the time. This in a roomful of liberal Democratic women has most of us spitting blood from having to bite our tongues.
What drives me most to distraction is that Demint, a leader in the Tea Party, has plans to run in 2016. And reading comments from women who have moved their allegiance over to the GOP in large part owing to the pushback to Hillary, they seem to be able to ignore the rising tide of his radical proposals which are stamped with approval by most of those currently serving in congress today. Many of them women.
Demint was closely allied with the C Street crowd and was an early cheerleader to both Sarah Palin. Their held parallel views on women’s rights. As a Tea Partier and a religious fundamental, his agenda is essentially to eviscerate Roe v Wade and promotes states rights to do away with funding clinics that offer healthcare treatment for women.
Women who were once partial to Hillary Clinton have become quite capable of pushing the candidates of the GOP which either suggests that they favored Hillary primarily due to her gender, or that they are not paying attention to what these proposals contain.
Not that Obama has gone out of his way to protect our rights, but that the GOP makes no bones about where they intend to go with enough votes to make it a reality. Sen. Demint is a leader in this movement which will send women to their deaths.
But trying to get that point across is futile these days. They would rather “take down” Obama and replace him with radicals then give any critical thought to the outcome. He played right into their hands with the Stupak amendment that sealed the doom in expecting fairness and equality where women are concerned.
I know. I can’t figure out how you can support Hillary Clinton and some of these other folks at the same time. It’s quite incomprehensible to me.
The primary motive is a white hot hatred for Obama and I’ve seen it turn some people over that I would have never thought possible. To this non-professional, it’s just sick!
Taking down Obama seems to be the only thing that matters. I detest him but find him not nearly relevant enough to get that stoked over.
Are there really that many Clinton supporters who would back this guy? Hillary’s work for women and girls is well understood…Are there statistics for how many now support extreme right-wing Republicans?
I’m surprised that you would not challenge your friend – especially in a room full of liberal Democrats. It seems like a good opportunity to explain the liberal position – you should tell her your position proudly. At the very least I’d tell her noone wants to hear her views on that subject unless it pertains to the book you are discussing.
And please forgive the lecturing – I know how hard that is. I’m an Atheist in a very religious Southern family! LOL
And here’s another asshole heard from:

Not that he has a chance of winning the nomination, but he signifies what the GOP represents.
Just pathetic.
Hillary 2012
OMG He actually wants to restrict sex to procreation only? RFLMAO.
What is it about sex that frightens these people so? They just can’t think of it as a gift from their God.
Just a quick note. I’m leaving for Denver early in the morning and won’t be back until late Saturday night. I’ll try to pop in when I can!
Good luck on the job search, Kat!
Un-f*cking-believable!
Yes, ditto for me too BB.
Seems like perhaps another boycott of South Carolina is in order. They had one before over their flag thingie.
Good luck on the job search, Kat! we are rooting for you 🙂
