Is Obama Preparing to Cede the Presidency to the Republicans?

It's all been downhill since I beat Hillary

This morning President Obama gave an interview to Ann Curry of NBC’s The Today Show. It was a pretty strange interview for someone planning to run for a second term as President. Obama told Curry that it doesn’t make much difference to him whether he wins the 2012 election or not.

Though the president himself, his staff, and his supporters around the country are busy devoting everything they’ve got to his 2012 re-election campaign, Obama revealed Monday that his family isn’t necessarily as “invested.”

[….]

And the president revealed that even he sometimes feels like giving up.

“I’m sure there are days where I say that one term is enough,” the president said, but he added that what keeps him going is the unfinished work regarding energy, education, and other issues.

Then why should all the bots go out and support him this time? Can we get a candidate who actually cares about the country?

…if the first lady thought it was time for him to go, he’d listen.

“I think Michelle – if she didn’t think that what we were doing was worthwhile in moving the country forward, I think she’d be the first to say, ‘Why don’t you do something else that’s a little less stressful?’”

Obama also discussed the public perception that he’s a cold fish who never gets worked up about anything. First he claims that “ordinary folks” don’t really think that.

“Ordinary folks understand I spend all my time thinking about this stuff because I’m talking to these folks every single day,” he said….”When I see them at meetings, and they start crying, the notion, somehow, that I’m calm about that, is nonsense. But what is true is that as president, my job is to make sure that I am finding every good idea that we can to move the country forward.”

Well then what does he do when he sees “them” and “they start crying?” Frankly, he’s a sociopath with almost no ability to empathize with other people. He doesn’t even understand what these people are feeling because he doesn’t experience strong emotions other than narcissistic rage and envy. JMHO.

Obama also pretended talked about jobs without really saying much of anything.

Obama says the real challenge is to develop new industries to spur job growth.

“The challenge, though, is it only takes 100 workers to make what it used to take 1,000 workers to make in terms of the amount of steel,” he said. “So that’s why we’re going to have to look at new industries and encourage entrepreneurs to invest in these new industries and make sure that our workers have the skills to train them.

“For us to employ the same numbers of workers as we need to, to get the unemployment rate down, we’ve got to look at new sectors, new markets. We’ve got to do more exporting. So one of my big areas of focus has been on increasing exports.”

Whatever….he doesn’t really care about jobs or “ordinary folks,” and it shows.

Why did Obama give this interview? What’s the point? Was it a shoutout to Republicans that he’s ready to turn the government over to them?

but won’t be…the mechanism( an actual poltical party ) simply does not exist. There is little time, no money and everything is in Chicago .

      • Dario says:

There’s time, and there’s money. Hillary could challenge him if it wasn’t for the Democratic establishment. The collusion that we saw in 2008 is still in place.

Paging Hillary Clinton….Hillary, come in please!

kind of in keeping with his constant give aways…

Michelle Obama continues the meme that Obama is worn out and doesn’t really want to continue.

“I see the sadness and worry that’s creasing his face,” she said to a crowd of about 500 at the Pasadena luncheon organized by the Southern California Women For Obama. She described his worth ethic as “tireless,” according to pool reports.

“He reads every word, every memo, so he is better prepared than the people briefing him,” she said. “This man doesn’t take a day off.”

She said the next two years of campaigning would be difficult for the Obamas and their supporters. “It is not going to be easy, and it is going to be long,” she said. “Now more than ever we need your help to finish what we started.”

” she said. “This man doesn’t take a day off.”

Stop it now ! my laugh lines are hurting!!

Why did Obama give this interview? What’s the point?

to assure the powers that be all is well I’m thinking

    • Dario says:

Did the violins play some sad composition when she said all that?

He doesn’t take a day off? Hasn’t he golfed more than any other president before him?

      • paper doll says:

Mink, I think she must of meant he hasn’t had a day off the back nine

        • Minkoff Minx says:

Damn, isn’t it ridiculous the stuff they are saying now. I wish he would just go away, and let someone who gives a shit about the country and the people, take over.

As far as I can see, he’s never really had to work at anything his whole life. So, yes, I’d bet – even given the minimal amount of work he probably actually does – he’s all tuckered out and wants to golf and such with his new best friends ASAP and all the time. He’s truly a lazy bum. Also, it must be exhausting for him actually to make a decision -on anything. Indecisive is putting it nicely. That he never developed core principles is more accurate.

  7. Allison says:

Pretty idiotic to say you don’t care and then expect your hard-core support to pick up the slack. What nerve – sort of like Newt expecting them to run a campaign while he and the missus go on a cruise. LOL

He never did have fire in the belly until he had to go up against HRC. Now he has gotten what he wanted – does it matter if it’s two terms or not? To him it doesn’t because he could care less about the problems the country is facing. He wanted the position – not the responsibility.

  8. Dario says:

Yes, Obama is not a Democrat and he would rather see a GOP president than stepping aside to allow a Democrat win the WH, especially if that Democrat is Hillary. We know that if he stepped aside Hillary would go for the WH.

  9. Peggy Sue says:

What I think is this man is an absolute disaster. For God’s sake, if you don’t want the job then step aside and let someone who has the passion and vision to take the reins. I just listened to a member of the progressive caucus say it’s about time that we tell this man in the WH who we love so much to get off his butt and do something about jobs, Obviously, they don’t share Michelle’s attitude that POTUS is worn to the fray.

Well, hello! You wanted the job, Obama. You sent death glares at Hillary, Michelle. Pity parties are not playing well in the hinterlands where people are worried about how they’re going to pay their mortgage and/or put food on the table.

The other day I heard someone suggest the job loss was due to ‘automation.’ Come on. Yes automation has eliminated jobs over the last 10-20 years but only the brain-dead believe that is the cause of 15 million unemployed Americans or the rising number of underemployed and those who have given up hope of ever finding anything. Our jobs have been sent overseas at a steady, head-in-the-sand rate. The Confluence has an interesting and telling essay up, the alarm that we don’t have enough scientists in country. Meanwhile take a look at the number of jobs eliminated by major research labs of highly educated, skilled R&D workers, who are out of work with no place to go.

How can anyone be surprised that the economy is in the toilet? Unemployed people do not run out and buy stuff. And in a system where 70% of the economy is driven by consumer activity, continuous unemployment is a frigging catastrophe.

Step aside, Mr. President. Do us all a favor.

    • paper doll says:

he never wanted the job…but the perks?!!!….ah. that’s another story . Those he won’t let go of… ever.
