Tuesday Cartoons: All means all.

Good morning. I was out of town all day yesterday, Bebe had her MRI scheduled and it was an all day thing.

I do not know what news transpired yesterday…so I am just sticking with cartoons for now.

Anyone out there can tell me if I am reading this right!

It sounds like martial law is going to be in force in 90 days…

And finally this:

This is an open thread, stay safe.

Sunday Cartoons: Another Peace

Hello, I am going to stay away from news today, if you need an update…please see Boston Boomers post from yesterday.

So today it is just cartoons and memes and funny observations.

I love that one!

I don’t know about you all, but I need to have some kind of relief from the enormous shit that ha happened this week.

Cartoons via Cagle:

Now, I have a video of John Oliver here for you…it is the whole show from a couple weeks ago, but the part I want you to see now is in the beginning starting at 2:30.

Ok…now that bit with the Muppets. Get this, I remember watching that live, back in 1987!!!! Yes! I was working at a T-shirt shop that day Wall Street crashed…Monday, October 19, 1987. I remember what was going on…and what I did that night. I watched Ted Koppel at a friend’s house…and I saw Fonzie Bear get chased by a cow on the TV news on Black Friday.

Now some more cartoons, including many from the foreign press:

Some more things…

What the fuck did we just watch?

So with that, stay safe…this is an open thread.

Thursday Cartoons

Good morning…let’s just get get to it…

And as if this would be a surprise to no one:

As @jamellebouie.net has been saying, they are absolutely trying to bring back segregation.

Read the EO here:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/04/restoring-equality-of-opportunity-and-meritocracy/

Trump’s executive order is a major step backward for civil rights in America. Let’s break it down: it eliminates a key protection called “disparate impact,” which has been used for decades to fight discrimination in schools, housing, and other areas.

Alt National Park Service (@altnps.bsky.social) 2025-04-24T01:01:10.102Z

That matters because many forms of discrimination today are subtle and hidden in data. By ending this protection, the government is making it much harder to prove discrimination unless someone openly admits to it.

Alt National Park Service (@altnps.bsky.social) 2025-04-24T01:01:10.104Z

This move also cancels rules that warned schools not to unfairly discipline students based on race. Bottom line: this order makes it easier for systems to quietly keep treating people unfairly while pretending everything is equal. That’s not justice it’s a cover-up.

And lastly, something completely different:

This is an open thread.

Tuesday Cartoons

My daughter had her EEG yesterday, her she is in the waiting room right before the test. You can see the concern and worry in her face. I hope the results come in soon.

This will be a quick post. Cartoons are from Cagle:

A few other observations:
