let’s talk about systemic racism for a second. I couldn’t help but notice you dedicated half of this column to a White actress that just passed away and you gave all of an inch of space to Desmond Wilson. Way to kick off black history month baby.

Hope you are cozy and warm JJ. I have been lucky and kept power through the ice and freezing cold. Hoping the wind dies down soon…

So sorry to hear about Demond Wilson. I absolutely loved Sanford and Son.

I couldn’t help but notice that you went ahead to celebrate Black History month by giving half of your column to a dead white actress while all but ignoring Desmond Wilson with a whole inch of space. I understand you’re under no obligation to provide equal time but it appeared to be a rather egregious start to Black History month. But the bigger question is why do we consider actors and actresses to be important at all, is it just because they’re famous?
