the latest on the shooting in NYC:

Shane Tamura is suspected of shooting four people dead in Midtown Manhattan, where the NFL offices are. A note he left references the NFL and CTE.

Tamura was my late mother-in-law’s maiden name. She was born in Kyoto. It’s my oldest full sister-in-law’s middle name. Weird coincidence.

How can you just walk through a busy block in Manhattan with a huge gun and not attract a cop?

WordPress is giving problems…Manhattan was always loaded with cops…I don’t know how this guy got through that plaza like that.

Investigators on Tuesday were focusing on whether a gunman had been targeting the headquarters of the National Football League when he burst into an office tower in Midtown Manhattan and killed four people, including a police officer, in a rare episode of deadly mass violence in the city.

Mayor Eric Adams said on Tuesday that the authorities “have reason to believe that he was focused on the N.F.L.,” which has offices at the tower, 345 Park Avenue. A three-page note found on the gunman mentioned the league, as well as the man’s claim that he had the degenerative brain disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or C.T.E., as a result of playing football, the police said. The note asks that his brain be examined for signs of C.T.E., and accuses the league of concealing the dangers of the game.

An employee of the N.F.L. was “seriously injured” in the shooting on Monday evening and was in stable condition, according to a statement from Roger Goodell, the league’s commissioner.

Mr. Adams said that investigators believe the gunman entered an elevator bank at 345 Park Avenue that did not have access to the N.FL.’s offices, so he instead traveled to the offices of Rudin Management, which owns the tower. The man was later found dead there, on the 33rd floor.

“He was not on our radar at all,” Mr. Adams said on Tuesday in an interview on CNN.

The New York City police officer, Didarul Islam, 36, who was working off duty as a security guard, was the first person shot by the gunman when he entered the lobby of the building at 6:28 p.m., according to Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

Two other people killed were identified on Tuesday as Wesley LePatner, a senior executive at the investment firm Blackstone, which also has offices in the tower, and Aland Etienne, a security guard at the building.

Ms. Tisch identified the gunman as Shane Devon Tamura, 27, of Las Vegas. In recent days, he drove from Nevada to Manhattan, where he abandoned his car moments before entering the building, Ms. Tisch said. Teams of investigators were traveling to Las Vegas on Tuesday.

After killing Officer Islam, Mr. Tamura shot Mr. Etienne and two other people in the lobby. He allowed a woman to go unharmed as she exited an elevator, before he rode it to the 33rd floor, where he killed one more person, whose name has not been released, and fatally shot himself in the chest.

The city’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner would make the decision on whether to test Mr. Tamura’s brain for a degenerative disease, the mayor said.

      Here’s what else to know:

      • Slain officer: The remains of Officer Islam were brought to his family in the Bronx early Tuesday morning. An immigrant from Bangladesh, he and his wife have two children and were expecting their third, Ms. Tisch said. He had been with the N.Y.P.D. for three and a half years.
      • Office tower: The tower occupies a whole block and has its own ZIP code. Rudin is one of the largest real estate firms in the city, and the Rudin family is heavily involved in New York City’s political life. Workers who left the building shortly before the gunman entered on Monday evening heard gunshots and screams as people fled in the middle of rush hour. Others were trapped in their offices for at least two hours.
      • The gunman’s history: Mr. Tamura arrived at Park Avenue in a BMW registered in his name, the police said. A loaded revolver, ammunition and medication prescribed to him were later found inside. Law enforcement in Las Vegas had documented Mr. Tamura’s mental health history, Ms. Tisch said. He had been charged with criminal trespass and received traffic citations in Nevada, records show.
      • C.T.E. claims: The note found on the gunman mentioned C.T.E., but it was not known whether the shooter had the disease, which can only be definitively diagnosed after death. Some people later found to have C.T.E., including former N.F.L. players, are known to experience symptoms including impulsive behavior, depression and suicidal thoughts. Mr. Tamura had played high school football in Southern California as a running back, according to a former teammate.

I think people are misinterpreting this wonky headline. The bombshell story CBS is reporting is that the Epstein jail tape the public got IS missing time and the FULL video exists. The FBI and DOJ have it. So when Bondi said the missing minute is normal, she lied. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/jeffrey...
