The Sky Dancing banner headline uses a snippet from a work by artist Tashi Mannox called 'Rainbow Study'. The work is described as a" study of typical Tibetan rainbow clouds, that feature in Thanka painting, temple decoration and silk brocades". dakinikat was immediately drawn to the image when trying to find stylized Tibetan Clouds to represent Sky Dancing. It is probably because Tashi's practice is similar to her own. His updated take on the clouds that fill the collection of traditional thankas is quite special.

It’s really hard to deal with this and I’m strategically working on myself. I cannot change the world around me, but I can work on how I deal with it all. There is nothing usual about anything any more. We have this huge heat dome over us know and all I can do is go sit in a cold bath and try to get rid of this crazy heat rash all over my body. I actually didn’t go to sleep until 3 am this morning. It takes that long for the heat and humdity to submit to the dark.
Nothing is what normal has every looked like and even the worst of the 20th century presidents can’t match this. It’s hard to make decisions on any level because we’re so far out in improbability land the only thing we can do is just work on how we process it and hang in here.
Here’s the heat dome today encompassing nearly the entire central part of the country. We’re right in the center and 3.5 standard deviations away from the mean. That means it had about of 2 percent change of being like this today. Meanwhile, Trump is talking about how windmills destroy our beautiful company while selling national parks off to predatory extracting corporations and there’s no way children go out in this and play. The number of political cartoons showing up even in cartoons not known to be political is truly a statement.
