One of the two times I witnessed an Apollo moon mission launch was with my high school science club. I think it was Apollo 14 in 1971.
One of the two times I have ever visited Washington D.C. was with my grade school Patrol Club. Yes – I was/am a giant geek.
I’ll never forget those two trips and I mourn the fact they don’t really do these type trips anymore AFAIK.
Things are so fracked atm I can’t even get excited about TWO moon landings this week albeit unmanned.

And about chickens –
My brother insisted on getting chickens. Built a big coop and kept five or so for a few years, complete with names and an emotional investment. It was not cheap and quite involved including hanging strings across the entire backyard to thwart hawks at one point.
The notion this is some kind of solution to anything is idiotic – in the middle of a bird flu threat on top of everything.
Sort of like how I spent loads of money trying to grow tomatoes which my dog would steal.

Ukraine’s opposition leaders have confirmed they have held discussions with members of Donald Trump’s entourage, but denied on Thursday they were part of a reported White House plot to remove Volodymyr Zelenskyy from power.
The former president Petro Poroshenko said he had held talks with US representatives but added that he opposed Trump’s demands for wartime elections. Poroshenko, who lost to Zelenskyy in the 2019 presidential vote, said a poll should only be held once martial law ends.
Yulia Tymoshenko, Ukraine’s former prime minister, said she also opposes elections while fighting continues. She said her team was “talking with all our allies who can help in securing a just peace as soon as possible”.
The online newspaper Politico reported that the secret discussions took place as part of an attempt by the White House to remove Zelenskyy from his post. Four senior members of Trump’s team were involved, it said, adding they believed Ukraine’s president would lose a vote.

Donald Trump’s rehabilitation of US-Russia relations has forced allies to consider scaling back intelligence, it has been claimed.
Members of the ‘Five Eyes’ alliance and nations including Saudi Arabia and Israel are becoming increasingly wary about what to share with the White House.
An alliance between Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and America was formalised in the post-World War II era and has since transformed into a robust global surveillance mechanism since then.
Its members describe it as the world’s most significant intelligence service and say it is their nation’s most important such partnership.

Republicans (and 10 Democrats voted to censure repalgreen for disrupting Trump’s speech in order to defend #medicare for millions of Americans. But they never censured Marge Greene for yelling, heckling and disrupting President Biden in the exact same arena. Wonder why that is??? I’ll noodle on it and get back to you 🧐
