Live Blog: Leader Pelosi on When Women Succeed, America Succeeds
Posted: September 21, 2014 Filed under: just because 10 CommentsI’m listening to Representative Cedric Richmond talk about the NFL and player’s domestic violence. Speaker Pelosi is up next. We’ve also been listening to the stories of women and how the pay gap. This includes women in the home health care sector. Two women discussed how illnesses and discrimination created situations where they made less income, less benefits and less social security benefits. My council woman Nadine Ramsey is introducing every one.

Leader Pelosi is calling for policies to unleash the power of women in the American economy.
She’s speaking on the fight for Violence against Women in the House after it passed in the Senate.
The Republican bill excluded violence against LGBT, native Americans and undocumenteds.
Dems are supporting 3 pillars to expand middle class. Women’s issues, infrastructure upgrades, and reducing student loan interest. Paycheck fairness, access to daycare and paid leave. They are bills ready for all. Women must vote to get these policies enacted.
So excited to look around and see all the young women here in the audience from Newcomb.
Pelosi is talking how it took 70 years from Seneca Falls to get the vote then the headline was women “given” vote after the fight to win it.
She’s taking questions after giving some great stories about knowing our power.
Thanks for doing this, Dak. I’m glad you went!
I hope you enjoyed it Dak and I hope Landrieu wins. We need to sprinkle as much blue in the red states that we can and it’s great that you have volunteered to help keep Landrieu in office.
Sounds like a really good event. Glad you reported on it!
