Mitt Romney: Women Should Vote for Me Because of MA Health Care Law

WTF?! Today on Fox News Sunday, Mitt Romney told Chris Wallace that women should support him because of Romneycare. Raw Story:

During an interview that aired on Sunday, Fox News host Chris Wallace asked Romney why women should vote for him after a fellow Republican, Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO), suggested that women could not get pregnant from “legitimate rape.”

“Look, I am the guy that was able to get health care for all of the women — and men — in my state,” the former Massachusetts governor explained. “There was talking about it at the federal level. We did something”….“I’m very proud of what we did, and the fact that we helped women and men and children in my state.”

Then why does he want to repeal Obamacare? My head is spinning. Does Romney actually expect people to fall for this garbage? Does he understand that if the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is repealed, Massachusetts will lose millions in federal funds that help pay for “Romneycare?”

I guess we should take from this that Romney has no intention of repealing the ACA and just accept that he has been lying his ass off through the entire campaign. How will the Tea Partiers respond to this at the upcoming convention? He got “shredded” a couple of weeks ago when he brought up Romneycare.

What will he do in the debates? He is on record (and on tape and video) promising to repeal “Obamacare” in hundreds of campaign appearances. Is he going to get up there and talk out of both sides of his mouth with Obama standing next to him? I admit, I’m completely stumped.

Back to Raw Story:

“And then with regards to contraceptives, of course Republicans and myself in particular recognize that people should have a right to use contraceptives. There is absolutely no validity whatsoever to the Obama effort and try and bring that up. And with regards to the issue of abortion, that is something where men and women have alternative views on that or different views.”

Really? Romney has stated that life begins at conception and has pledged to support a human life amendment that would criminalize abortion in every case along with in vitro fertilization, many kinds of birth control, and very likely miscarriages. Is he stupid or just crazy? Excuse me, I think I’ve got whiplash!

As JJ would say, this is a motherf##king open thread!

Is Romney going to continue this whirling dervish routine if he makes it to the White House? We’ll get up every day and wonder how his positions have changed? I don’t think that’s going to work very well.

Love the cartoon!! Only thing missing is Mitt talking out of his ass.

The fella is desperate — his also spinning why he should have money in offshore accounts.

Someone should ask him if women can go to the Mormon heaven.

The debates should be interesting — thankfully I don’t have a TV.

It is the Mormon’s view that women are baby machines. I remember the first time I drove through the Greater Salt Lake area on the freeway. So many huge billboards advertising OBGYN Clinics with a very pregnant woman being escorted by her husband and a boat load of children. SHE was the baby machine — no other use for her.

Every time I see one of his commercials it pisses me off to no end that this creep is going to spend every waking moment in the White House ripping apart everything Obama’s accomplished.
BTW, does Romney get a discount on ads run on Fox? Just watched a preseason NFL game and every other commercial was a Romney ad.

Huh, is this the same Romney who decries what he calls Obamacare, which is he same as what he signed off on when Governor of Mass? Is this the same man who has been running scared about his own history? Is this the same man who chose as his running mate one of the most anti woman man anyone could choose, the one who wants to take away all of women’s rights to their own bodies. And now he’s worried about the woman vote?

Evangelicals held a “faith and freedom rally” in Tampa today. They barely mentioned Romney. But they were focused on abortion, birth control, marriage, etc.

Does anyone, with a functioning brain, honestly think that Romney is going to do anything – if elected – other than sign the bills sent to him by Congress & pose for photo ops? Seriously, maybe I’m naive or stupid, but I think he’s not going to be anything but a figurehead. In fact, more of a figurehead than Queen Elizabeth. His neo-con advisors are going to run the country. But, I could be wrong. I just wonder how all those puppeteers are going to simultaneously get their hands up his a$$ to make his lips move.

I am so very concerned – nay scared that Romney / Ryan could be elected. Although I do not live in the U.S., the thought of this terrifies me. How can anyone vote for these people, and trust me, I think Obama is a moderate republican by virtue of his behaviour, however better the moderate republican than the batshit tea party right wingers. this is getting more terrifying every day. Someone plese tell me this will not happen…

The electoral college favors Obama. I don’t see how Romney can win unless something really dramatic happens.

Isaac is on course to be a repeat of Katrina. None of the Southern governors will be able to speak at the Convention. I hope Dak doesn’t lose her power for days.

I know this is totally off topic, but I just had to share. I just returned from walking the wonderdog, and although the Moon that we can see is just a half moon, it seemed to be unusually bright. I was struck by the brilliance, although it could have just been my impression, however all I could thing of is that I’m seeing one half of your wonder, Neil Armstrong walked on your land.

It’s still amazing to contemplate, isn’t it?

More than amazing, awe inspiring. I don’t usually (actually ever) feel awe. I can count on one hand the number of times that I was wordless. First time was Alan Shepherd, the first american in space (in those days we never heard about anything outside of america), the next was the election of JFK, the third was Neil Armstrong. Tonight, for the first time in decades – I felt that same sense of awe.Thank you Neil Armstrong. You gave me a gift of awe, because you did what no one else has ever done, and because of the reaction to your death – once again, you gave me hope.

These reviews are hilarious. Massive failure for Bic! If you need a laugh, give this link a click.

Imani Gandy: Amazon UK Reviewers Skewer ‘BIC for Her’ Ballpoint Pens

I yearn for a scented lady-pen with wings.

You really ought to take the time to read these brilliant reviews for BIC for Her pens. They are all instant classics.

    Here is a sample:

I feel I must complain in the strongest terms about the sexism of this item. Where are the “For Him” pens? How can I embrace my masculinity, when there is no pen for me? Am I destined to just watch all of the women around me falling into a sparkly dream of ponies, crochet and butterflies, while I pace angrily here, unable to access the manly world of construction vehicles, barbeques, motor racing and science? I can barely adjust my crotch, I am so angry.

Make pens For Him. Strong pens. Manly pens. Pens that dress on the right. Pens with good grips for masculine hands. MANPENS!

    and

Before I bought this product I couldn’t write but now I’m an engineer. Mind you, I only design pink, flowery bridges, motorways and sewers. Blue ones would be wrong wouldn’t they.

Well I did a little research and oh my – if you’re Mormon and you think LDS is prolife – it’s not – Mitt is changing the GOP platform to suit LDS belief that covering up the crimes of very bad men with abortion that the mother will never forget and the baby will never survive is – yup – A-O-Kay! -> http://mormon.lds.net/mormon-beliefs/abortion
