Taylor Marsh Doesn’t Get It …

It’s not about towing the party line, Taylor.  It’s about principles; democratic principles.  Yes, yes, we know the Obamamites were threatening to take away your credentials to the DNC convention because you were too cozy with HIllary supporters.  Yes, we know Hillary now ‘supports’ Obama, as she was told to do.

Some of us, however, have principles.  Some of us vote not for the party label and not even for a single issue if there are bigger principles at stake –like democracy, justice, truth, and the American Way.

The American way is winning an election by getting the most votes when every voter counts as a voter.  Justice is NOT taking your name off a ballot then having a group of party insiders give you pledged delegates from that state and taking away votes cast to another candidate for rhetorical voters.  Truth is NOT going on and on and on about how unfit and unqualified one candidate is one minute, then switching to a completely different line seconds after a speech.

Democracy is NOT a decision made by party insiders.  Democracy is election not selection.

There are some principles worth standing up for and worth doing things that may not be in your individual interest if it is in the interest of the country you love.  For me, it’s not voting for Obama under ANY circumstances because of his character, his poor judgement, his continual storytelling, his lack of achievements, and the folks he chooses as counsel.  Clear enough?  I’m not selling my country out so I can attend the DNC convention or get an abortion in Louisiana instead of having to fly to New York City.  No amount of gold can get me to sell out my principles. But then Taylor, I have them.  I’m not sure you do.

PUMA!

    LOL! I LOVE IT.

Send TM the link. She has to see it.

Good job. Thanks for doing this.

Fabulous and oh so very true!

TM wouldn’t know a principle if it bit her on the bottom, but hey, even the unprincipled and ignorant deserve the truth;)

Thank you for this posting this. I agree TM doesn’t get it. As you know by now, I don’t consider TM either a journalist or political analyst. Most of us bloggers at camille’s place can analyze things better than her. We are the true “citizen journalists”. TM is nothing more than a hack.
Remember when the Obamabots attacker her for her previous “employment” in the porn industry, she was so put out by that. And what does she do, she joins the Obama “disunity” party. How soon she forgets what the Obamabots did to her!

I’m still grateful to Taylor for providing a haven during ObamaShitStorm 1.0, but now that he’s rolled out version 2.0, it’s time to part company with TM. That cartoon is doubleplus ungood.

Oh come on…Let’s not make it personal…I can never forget what Taylor’s blog has meant to me these past 2 months or so. And I still agree with most of what she posts. I may not agree with her position on Obama (can’t vote for him…but not for McCain either), but I respect her position and reasoning. Some people vote on issues, some others believe that there are several right ways to run a country, so they vote for perceived leadership capabilities. Taylor and so many others belong to the first category. Which I completely understand. But for the first time in my life, there’s too much of a tension between the first and second category for me personally. I usually believe the best leader = the best on issues. Right now, I feel like I have to make a choice between a bad leader who’s semi-good on the issues and a good leader that’s semi-bad on the issues…A choice I am unwilling to make…
This is simply without precedent for me…Until now, there’s always been a ‘right’ and a ‘wrong’ choice as far as I can remember…But now, I just feel kinda lost…

  8. Great post! I think the lack of principles in this whole ridiculous selection of Obama is the part that galls me the most. What happened to principles? Count every vote? “Of the people, by the people, FOR the people?”
The DNC is making a huge mistake- every day I find yet another blog (yours today via The Confluence) that is anti-unity, anti-Obama, anti-corruption. The thing they all have in common is principles. No amount of wishing is going to make me vote for Obama.
Not. Ever. He is not qualified. His ‘positions’ (which are exactly what by the way? they change depending on his audience) do not qualify him, as he has no definitive position on anything.
The DNC has to be made to realize that we will not condone vote manipulation. No rewards for bad behavior. For God’s sake, this is an election for President of the United States! It’s not like I am trying to decide between the generic and the brand name at the grocery store!
I have always voted Dem- not this time. If the DNC drives this bus over the cliff, I will not be on it. It’s Hillary or I am sending the loudest message I know how to send- I will for the first time in my life, vote Rep.

TM said what she was going to do if BO won and she is doing it. Is she out to keep her own career, sure. Me too! How about you? She’s a die-hard Dem; I am more of an ideolog. The world goes around.

I am reading and posting elsewhere more these days, but I don’t think she deserves any personal nastiness. We disagree. She doesn’t stop me from posting my disagreement.

When I once emailed her personally that I was distrubed about a graphic on her site, she emailed me back immediately and chaged the graphic.

All of this is a lot more than we got from most progressive blogs, so I say let her do her own thing, you do yours, I’ll do mine, and keep the conversation civil.

We said we were the grown-ups, right?

Sofie: Taylor made it personal with that tasteless, cartoon that was a direct insult to Clinton supporters. Total stereotype. Total slap in the face.

But what can you expect from someone who lies about her name, her age, and her past. It’s all a bid for attention and she doesn’t care where she gets the attention, as long as she gets it.

She’s a walking borderline personality disorder and has an identity that changes with the wind.

At least she took down the image of herself in a Superman suit from her website, though. I guess the grandiosity that the image revealed was finally too embarrassing for her.

    PMM,
When did instances of “corruption” occur?
Is it really corruption for the DNC to make sure that primary contests don’t continue to become earlier and earlier, and then, essentially, allow those states to disenfranchise their own voters by ignoring the rules? Michigan and Florida are lucky that they got -any- delegates, and I don’t think that they should have, lest we wind up with primaries that occur two years before an election.
And for experience – what leadership? What experience?
Being the president’s wife IS NOT a political office, and does not , in this case, endow her with anything other than a marked talent for taking abuse when the payout at the end justifies it.
She was the president’s wife and then a junior senator for a few more years than Obama was, and this idea that she’s more “experienced” is nonsense.

Ben, give it up pal. We’ve all heard these bogus Obamacrat talking points many times. We’re argued them with people far better informed than you. Trot back to your little Obamatot pals and brag on how you went and told them danged Hillary folks what’s what.

Glad to see that you do hold “Democratic” principals dear in that YOU think 2 states, among 5, that moved their primary date up shouldn’t have gotten any delegates. Wow you would be totally at home in a dictatorship somewhere. Which is what Obamacrats really want anyway.

  14. Ben Kilpatrick's avatar Ben Kilpatrick says:

Your use of terms like “Obamabot” notwithstanding, I’m only backing him reluctantly. The lesser of two evils is still an evil.

That being said, isn’t your dismissal of me clever? (Though, if anything, it betrays simple unwillingness to engage my points, and since none of you who respond to me can rise of the level of “you’re wrong! haha!”, -none- of you have even the -slightest- idea how informed or uninformed I may be.)
