Good morning!
Let’s get this cartoon post started, via Cagle website:

This was one of the last tweets sent by David Crosby:

I will say this, if that is the case…Hell, here I come!

This is an open thread…take it easy.
Morning…this is for the day…1973:
Also another mass shooting…killer is still at large:
I was a junior in high school when Roe happened. It was such a day of celebration! There was year after year of strides for women at that time. Plus, everyone took saving the planet seriously.
Happy Year of the Water Rabbit!!!

Meet the Adorable “Sea Bunny” Taking Over the Internet
Despite its cute and cuddly appearance, this little sea creature is actually a kind of slug.
Many of the Baby Boomer generation were young adults then. The women’s movement, environmental movement, organic food, composting, recycling, ending the Vietnam war, ending gender stereotypes … and yet many young people now use “Boomer” as an insult. How quickly history is forgotten, or maybe they never learned it. In so many ways society has gone backward.
10 people killed, 10 injured in mass shooting at Monterey Park dance studio

This is an Asian community. The suspect is an Asian Male.
Some confusing messages in this statement:
https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2023/01/suspect-is-still-at-large-in-mass-shooting-at-la-area-ballroom/
“ Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said, “The description we have now is of a male Asian. Does that matter? I don’t know.” He said authorities would provide a more detailed description in the coming hours, but declined to characterize the event as a hate crime.
“We don’t know if this is specifically a hate crime as defined by law,” Luna said, “but who walks into a dance hall and guns down 20 people?”
Luna said that the shooting was potentially related to another incident that took place approximately 20 minutes after the initial shooting, this time at a dance hall in Alhambra, California, where patrons disarmed the gunman before he could attack. Luna said that police had retrieved a weapon and that it was not an assault rifle. “We need to get this person off the street as soon as possible,” he said.“
(…)
“ The city’s planned festivities for Sunday have been canceled.
Authorities assured the public that it was safe to continue celebrating the Lunar New Year and that they will release more details in the coming hours.”
So, it sounds like the “authorities” are sending a mixed message here…I personally don’t think it’s safe…do you?
The “hate crime” distinction never made sense to me. Any murder is a hate crime unless in self-defense.
Interesting! Thanks for this!

It’s not race; it’s sex. Men. Men are doing 98% of the killings. As for trans-identified people, they are among the safest demographics unless you extrapolate the rate for Brazilian prostitutes to the demographic as a whole. For example in the U.K. for the past 3 yrs (probably 4 yrs now) zero, absolutely none, zilch, no trans-id’d people have been killed. Meanwhile, 2-3 women (the majority of whom are white) are killed each week. As for “I”, that’s an insulting and outmoded term for DSDs. People w/DSDs, who are either male or female (not both nor neither nor spectrum-y) would very much like to be left off of the TQ+WTF crowd.
