Wednesday Reads: Hi, November.

Good morning, I’m still not feeling well…I took a Covid test last night and it came back negative, so…who knows what is giving me this yuk feeling.

Cartoons from Cagle website:

Now for a few children’s books…from childhood destroyed:

Some of these made me laugh so damn much.

Take a look at the comments on that thread.

I want to end this with an ad that has been playing here in Georgia:

So horrid…I would love to smack Miller…

That is all for now, as I am having trouble staying awake. This is an open thread.

  5. I have a question about the Pelosi attack and I wonder if anyone else noticed this. Evidently when the police arrived, the intruder and Pelosi each had a hand on the hammer. The police officers told them to drop it and that’s when the intruder grabbed the hammer away from Pelosi’s grip and attacked him with it in front of the officers. Now why would an officer tell two men, one in his eighties and one in his forties, to drop the weapon, without first figuring out who was in danger? If it is true that the attack happened after the arrival of police and right in front of the officer, isn’t that weird or indicative of not protecting Pelosi sufficiently? Maybe I shouldn’t be as bothered by this detail as I am. Here’s the quote from the Wapo article on 10/29: “The officers, who were watching from outside the doorway, told both men to drop the hammer, at which point DePape “immediately pulled the hammer away” and “violently attacked” Pelosi with it, Scott said.”

Whaaat? I haven’t been following the details because every time I try to I have to read about revolting Repub stuff. So I haven’t heard this before.

So the guy waited to attack Paul Pelosi until he figured he wouldn’t get another chance? ?? And the cops didn’t know what PP looked like? And who to defend?

You can be damn sure if someone tried to attack me with a hammer I’d do my best to get a hold of it too! What else could he do? What were the cops doing instead of running straight in? Waiting outside until it was safe? ?? Christ on a police procedures manual.

The cops didn’t have anti-hammer protection armor. /s

Yeah, that was weird. “Drop the hammer!” and of course the good guy is going to drop it and the bad guy is going to hang on to the hammer. Idjit cops. And why didn’t they simply tackle the bad guy?
