If only we will one day see Nazimodo in prison…how wonderful that will be.

Have a good and safe Sunday…this is an open thread.

Wow I did not know this. Would love to see that stats and for women who leave sick husbands. Guessing men don’t need to be warned?
Women stay. Men go in search of another caretaker/sex partner/shill.

My husband only came to chemo appointments with me and then surgery. That was 7 events out of days and days and months (8 or so) of never staying home to do anything. My parents, his mother, my neighbor, and I did everything. He also basically figured I was dead, so emotionally disconnected from me. The parents complained about having to do the work since I was too sick to even get out of bed most days. My neighbor watched the oldest daughter, Grandparents took care of six month – year old daughter. They nearly killed me several times with chemo, and the surgery was 21 hours long, and all left me looking like a holocaust survivor. Reminded me of Newt leaving his wife for the next one.
Oh hell, dak. How utterly awful.
My 95 year old father is on second wife, 11eventymillionth woman and doing just fine thank you. Never cooked a meal or changed a diaper in his life. Must be nice to be waited on your entire freakin life.
I’m lucky my Dad was wonderful. I thought all men cooked, changed diapers, and did all kinds of things. Then, I got married. He just sat there and expected me to do everything.
So “nice,” they’d rather tube the entire planet than lose the servitude.
The same thing happens when women get sober. Instead of being supportive or stopping drinking themselves, many male partners just find another drinking buddy.
Nurses are not taught to warn women patients about this. It would be unprofessional and an attempt to predict the future. I’ve heard that more men leave their women partners when women are ill than women leave male partners. There’s a surprising lack of studies on this (or should I be surprised?). But talking about this is more the domain of the mental-health specialist or social worker (who may have a nursing degree along with a more specialized degree).
Ted Cruz is such an asshole!
Why do men need to take many people out with them when they’re depressed?
It would be great if this got rid of the Fox problem:

It’s inching closer to a jury. It asks for 1.6 billion dollars and seems to be one of the first such cases to make it to jury in decades!
Look at the date of this article…1912!
Same with tobacco, same with radium, same with asbestos, same with all kinds of stuff until government finally does something about them all.
The earliest paper was by Eunice Foote, 1856. Ignored for decades because … well… duh… written by a woman. I think there’s a mention of CO2 heat-trapping properties even earlier, 1812?, but it wasn’t linked with what happens when you add heat-trapping gases to the atmosphere.
History, as Charlie Pierce says, is cool, but also sad. 😦
What we learn from history is how few learn from history.
