So another Sunday…

This next video is disgusting…you’ve been warned.

This is an open thread.
Wow – excellent selection JJ (and I “got” all of them!).
Major fail for Wash Post – haven’t read the article (not a subscriber anymore) – but did they even mention how effective the assault rifle ban was?
Yeah, I can’t watch any more news…
Gary Abernathy is a Republican Operative and works for a hack paper in Ohio. I put up two WAPO things down below. OP-ED by Paul Krugman and an actual article reviewing substantive studies on Gun Regulation from a few days ago. I hate when they let hacks onto OP-ED pages. They shouldn’t publish them if they don’t stand up to fact-checking.
Agree. Journalists are supposed to fact-check; it’s part of their job.
I loved, loved, loved the one of Canada trying not to make eye contact. 😆
And the Telnaes one about the reactions if 99.999% of mass murderers were women. Bullseye.
Yeah she was one of the finalists for a Pulitzer…some cartoonist are really hitting a mark… check this twitter feed: https://twitter.com/eandpcartoons?s=21&t=XDeT6kaXM4RYdw9m2z4JRw
Wow, what an excelent link! Depressing as hell, of course. But excellent.
Yes, Telnaes said what very few others (aside from women) dare to say.
As to the “Let’s focus more on why people kill than what they use to do it” bullshit, you can’t kill 28 people in 15 seconds with a knife. Or whatever insane rate per minute the AR can fire.
Good as far as it goes, but it just nitpicks a few of the previous laws. No discussion at all of the reaction of the small arms industry to the most interesting idea of all. We have the technology to “bar code” (put identifying molecules in) every bullet. Combine that with some up-to-date liabilities laws (of the type Bernie Sanders voted against).
Guess what. When anything even close is brought up in Congress, the entire small arms industry goes into fifty fits and it barely makes it as far as committee.
That’s what would work. As well as plenty of other things, but we could start there. No 2nd Amendment involved.
Fortunately the DOJ is going to investigate the Uvalde Police response.
