I’m just diving in with the Easter jokes:

Meanwhile, just a little south of Banjoville:
What’s with the hospital gown?
And now for the cartoons from the Cagle website:

I’m guessing y’all haven’t seen this:
Here’s a few takes on it:
And ending with a clip from one of the funniest shows on TV:
Wow, this is way longer than I thought it would be…and it’s an open thread. I hope all the images uploaded ok, WordPress was giving me problems last night…have a pleasant day
Happy Easter ya’ll. Toons are great JJ. I busted out laughing at Table for 26….
Oh good, I wanted to post funny things today. Happy Easter.
Enjoy the day!
Happy Ishtar!
Love this vid. Nina Paley does amazing work.
Um, not exactly. That’s 1850 or so. *Married* women had fewer rights than single, eg the need for
husband’smale guardian’s signature to get a credit card or loan. (Because women are too dippy to take care of money, y’know, even though they do have the vote by 1974. That was so that they can double their husband’s vote. I’m not joking. That’s what got the necessary male votes to agree to the suffragists demands.)Anyway, where was I. Another thing that was actually better then than it is now: very few men were totally steeped in porn. Sexual relations had endless social baggage, but the actual behind-closed-doors male-female part was not as gonzo as it is now, judging by reports from the front.
And the business about couldn’t talk privately with her doctor? In 1974? No idea what she’s even talking about.
Thanks for the Easter laughs!
Really enjoyed the video on the Hutsul traditions, JJ!
