Well, there is always that…
Cartoons via Cagle website:

And that is all for now, as Boston Boomer said yesterday, things are just too sad.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have beautiful clothes like the Peruvian weaver?
It’s a backstrap loom, where the necessary tension on the warp threads to hold them taut is provided by your body. In effect, you wear your loom! They can be small, or as wide as the weave can comfortably manage, and you can weave plain cloth or complex brocades. The South American weavers are fond of warm, bright colors.

A group for backstrap loom weavers here: https://www.ravelry.com/groups/backstrap-weaving
You can make your own backstrap loom fairly easily and cheaply. I’m pretty sure JJ knows more about backstrap weaving than I do.

Here’s a fascinating individual who kind of learned numerous languages on his own.
His MRI was interesting compared to more “normal “ people. Good for a distraction from all the horrific news.
Reminds me of the famous example of the London taxi drivers who learned “the Knowledge” — had a mental map of all London’s streets — and how certain areas of their brains were larger usual. Brain plasticity! Adults have it too.
Baby Daughter lives here … so glad the girls wound up in states that see women as more than vessels for ugly white men.
These people are nuts! Christobans for Donald!
This is heartbreaking. Devastating news.
What terrible news! He was a great newsman and author. Sympathy for his family.
Oh noooo!
Oh no! What a loss.
