Watching the confirmation hearings, I want to run down the street screaming!
Senate Judiciary Republicans claim Judge Jackson’s confirmation is not about race — when every single American with a pulse knows, beyond the shadow of a doubt — it’s all about fucking race.

Auntie would like to congratulate Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson on day 2 for her confirmation hearings.
— 🖕🏻Aunt Crabby Calls Bullshit 🖕🏻 (@DearAuntCrabby) March 22, 2022
If it were Auntie, I would have told those M'Fukin' RWNJ Douchebags to take a flying fuck. 70% of Americans would have agreed.
Today's grilling of #JudgeKetanjiBrownJackson was abusive. 13 hours facing tag-team fascist assholes takes a toll
— Pat Bagley (@Patbagley) March 23, 2022
Not one of them would ever submit to the same from their constituents
We’ve learned quite a bit more about the Republican senators questioning her than we have Judge Jackson. None of it is good. Dignity, thy name is Ketanji. @courierjournal pic.twitter.com/4aEKDsReJZ

Seriously though…
Dear Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, you absolutely do not have to keep pushing Putin's propaganda for invading Ukraine. In fact, it would be better if you did not. https://t.co/qS3prTxBXC

I don’t know what’s going happen if these assholes get control of House or Senate in November.
I’ve said for a decade that the modern GOP is laser-focused on repealing the last 70 years of legal and social progress. I thank the senator for accidentally spilling the beans and proving me right.
— John Cole (@ColeToon) March 23, 2022
It really speaks to how confident Republicans are that they've successfully destroyed democracy that they don't worry too much about the blowback of denouncing decisions that legalized birth control and interracial marriage.

Republicans will move to ban all abortions, gay marriage, and interracial marriage. I'm tired of pretend it could never happen here. They're broadcasting it in broad daylight. They're already doing it. It's about fucking time we believed them.

They want to question Judge Brown Jackson about being too soft on child sex crimes..while passing laws that force twelve year olds to have their rapist’s baby.

The entire purpose of these hearings is to link Critical Race Theory with child pornography and pedophilia in advance of the next election cycle. It has nothing to do with confirmation or SCOTUS.
— Jason Stanley (@jasonintrator) March 22, 2022
Two things made clear today: Ketanji Brown Jackson will be an extraordinary Supreme Court Justice and it’s critical for the Democrats to retain control of the Senate.

Morning…
Some updates:
A few other things:
Fuck:
The cartoons are especially good today. I always look forward to seeing them.
Yes, some of the cartoonist are on the top of there game. There are so many right wing cartoons that truly aren’t commentary, they become outright racist and I know free speech…but at what point does it cross the line into something more sinister.
Lindsay Graham is too emotional to be a Senator. He should go home and get some therapy.
No kidding. That was embarrassing! He kept interrupting and Durbin kept telling him to stop.
Durbin let him get away with it and let him go way past his time. He should
have shut him down. Leahy was so shocked that he had to leave the room.
Imagine what they would say about him if he were a woman. They’d be blaming menopause!
Shocking!
Wait. What? Too many stacked up reversals for me. The Cliff Notes summary might be?: Repubs draw (even more) gerrymandered map, thrown out in court, Supremes reinstate super-gerrymander under cover of dark docket.
I’m assuming Sotomayorand Kagan wouldn’t be dissenting if it was a reasonable ruling?
Thx for the Cliff Notes. I had to read the original a few times to figure it out. I thought the Rs on SCOTUS were all in favor of states’ rights. But only when it suits them.
That Is disgusting.
I hadn’t seen this. Sheesh.
I was, fortunately, a mile east of that tornado and it was moving quickly to the NE when it crossed the Mississippi River. This is likely the second EF3 in the history of the area. The first was in New Orleans East in 2017. We normally do not get the kinds of tornados that stay around for long periods of time. This one really did. I live in a place where Climate Change impacts us all the time. I can only wonder what this year’s hurricane season will bring.
Thank heavens you weren’t in the bullseye! Must have been terrifying. Sounds like you may have been close enough to hear it!
The strange thing is I really didn’t but even those in it said it was moving so fast they heard it for only a minute or 2.
Madeline Allbright has died at 84.
That is so sad…she was an important figure to me when I was a young woman…and I’ve always admired her strength.
Oh no! I always respected her.
This:
I could watch that 100 times.
I dislike Cruz, but he asked a fair question. If “self-identification” for sex is valid, then self-ID is for race is valid. Even more so, because there’s far less difference between Hispanics and Asians than there are between women and men.
Damn pity that Jackson’s bought into the sex-characteristic version of “Rachel Dolezal is valid.” Jackson’s otherwise excellent.
No shit.

Glad they finally decided that, although it was obvious. Now, what are we going to do about it? It cannot be just talk; we must act.
Good to see the change. The US hasn’t accepted many Ukrainian refugees yet.
