I think it all stems from the fact that a black man was elected President some years ago….tRump supporters have something in common. They are white supremacist, bigoted assholes.
In 1923, Adolf Hitler led a failed coup. He was treated leniently. Germany moved on.
A decade later, he was dictator, and the worst disaster in the history of the civilized world ensued.
In 2021, when the president of the United States leads a failed coup, we must not move on.— Mark Jacob (@MarkJacob16) January 8, 2021
After this violent coup attempt, incited and maybe coordinated by Trump, where we are lucky many House members or Senators were not taken hostage or worse, Trump is still sitting in our White House tonight, rather than removed from office or otherwise taken into custody.

How and why is someone close to the WH familiar enough with the rioters to be “in touch with them”? That tells me this is a coordinated effort. That’s called conspiracy. https://t.co/FjGkRStleX

Trump tried to take out his own Vice President and the Speaker of the House and people are butthurt about him losing his Twitter? He should be in shackles.

'They had a map of the tunnels [in the basement of the Capitol], and they were talking about how they're going to be able to stop Congress from leaving. They imagined that this was the day there were going to be mass executions of Congressmen.'https://t.co/qIjNYN4Kqd

SCOOP: There is a new dissent cable filed by scores of State Dept officials after Capitol Hill violence. They rebuke Pompeo for not condemning Trump & urge him to consider 25th amendment consultations. Largely unprecedented move in State's ~232 yr history https://t.co/hV95U6llNd

I worked on the hill and walked those tunnels for years, but would need a map to find the Parliamentarians office.
Those terrorists had help.

This thread:
Take the time to read through this thread of affidavits about what the terrorists who besieged the US Capitol intended to do and their weapons. People do not fully appreciate how close this came to being a mass casualty event. Every person in that building is lucky to be alive. https://t.co/XWvgXHnpGP

Just waiting for…
This is an open thread.
Liberal redneck for your viewing pleasure.
His vocabulary is a bit limited for my taste.
Since he hates this country so much and has had devastating effect on the lives of our citizens he should lose his citizenship and all of it’s entitlements ASAP!
I did not get that from what he said — I believe he is trying to reach others of his (apparent) ilk in language they can understand. He clearly does not approve of Trump or the domestic terrorists. The only quibble I have is that he appears to believe they are incompetent idiots. I believe some were not and were prepared and truly malevolent.

Time for consequences- Biden to concentrate on the future, the rest of us to make sure the consequences are addressed.
Some good news: Reuters reports that Blue Cross Blue Shield and Marriott are suspending contributions to the lawmakers who voted against the Biden certification. If more companies would do so, we can more easily replace these congresspersons with people who believe in democracy.
There’s also video of this. Horrific. I only hope Officer Sicknick was quickly unconscious. Every one of his attackers, and the onlookers, should be locked up for life.
Apparently this is a different officer.
Watching a video of this and was so frightened for Officer Goodman — I thought that white mob would lynch him. What a relief that he escaped. He deserves a citation for bravery, a raise and a promotion. A new Medal of Honor (since Trump has stained the old one).
He led the mob away from the Senate room.
I love it that his name is Eugene (“well born”) Goodman. So true!)
Whiney white men find out what it’s like to be treated like every one else.
And when he gets committed for a felony and he lose his guns … can you imagine the meltdown?
They’ll be on the floor kicking and screaming in a Trumptantrum.
Waaaaaaaa…what a candy-ass whiny baby, just like his hero Dump. And nobody ruined his life but himself.
I have been reading here every day for a long time but haven’t commented in forever but I want to say this: She is odious. Not one redeeming value. Her heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the dead terrorists is really galling. These stupid fascists want reconciliation and for us to let bygones be bygones. I am sorry. Trump and his cronies planned to execute the entire Congress following the playbook set forth with the Reichstag fire so that they could seize power and institute their theocracy or fascist dictatorship or whatever they planned.
Seconded! As somebody said: calls for unity are really calls for impunity.
