Sunday Reads ThreatsPosted: August 30, 2020 | |
And this is your greeting this Sunday morning…
It sounds like the NRA just threatened violence against a major party presidential nominee. This is not only a clear violation of Twitter’s rules, it’s also grounds for an investigation by the Secret Service. https://t.co/NudfGPIxTO

Along with Portland, as this thread illustrates…
I'm out in the Portland suburbs, where hundreds of Trump supporters are gathering for an event. They say they will be driving into Portland later tonight. pic.twitter.com/NUHy5e4TnP

Please read that one in full, it will give some context to the following:
Portland started in the mall of a suburb, where armed Trump militia gathered and terrorized locals. They then rolled as a caravan to PDX, shot paintballs and pepper spray at passerby’s from their pick up trucks. Now someone is dead. pic.twitter.com/e4CF40omZN

The history of Nazis holding rallies in left-wing areas of Weimar Germany, instigating street fights, and then telling the press that only they could save Germany from the "violent communists" seems like an important thing for people to be studying right now.

A real President would be asking his supporters for calm, not confrontation. He wants conflict and chaos. Anyone helping him with that, is helping him get re-elected, regardless of the righteousness of your motivation.

Don't think POTUS's speeches on July 3/4 have gotten enough attention.
They were an open declaration of war against "the radical left."
The fighting in the streets is what the President wants. He has no vision for a peaceful resolution of the unrest.https://t.co/wcg4rBrUNd

Disgusting. #RussiaRon @SenRonJohnson of #Wisconsin refuses to condemn Trump for urging his violent thug supporters to go to #Portland to cause trouble. #TrumpViolence #TrumpRiots pic.twitter.com/JSWniXu8mk

Three huge factors got us to this point:
– RIGHT-WING MEDIA: Fox, Pool, Ngo, etc. depicting BLM protesters as terrorists
– PLATFORMS: YouTube and Facebook allowing paramilitary groups to recruit and organize
– POLICE: allowing these groups to engage in violence with impunity

“Trump is attempting to win suburban voters back by feeding their worst fears of urban chaos.”
I lived in Yugoslavia. I saw how a tyrant pitted urban against rural areas. It ended badly. https://t.co/HxdDqenRG1

Adam Schiff on Trump curtailing intel briefings: "What changed is POTUS, probably in another fit, saying 'I don't want congress informed.' Because the last time Congress was informed, the DNI had to put out a statement acknowledging that the Russians are helping Trump again." pic.twitter.com/EefcbNiN3U

With 65 days to go until this important election. Why would the Dir of National Intelligence, John #Ratcliffe, want to give the U.S. Congress LESS information?
He must do his job, or be replaced. https://t.co/r2tHtbcjiI
