    I found that image above on Twitter. Now I can’t find the tweet it came from… the context was not what I wanted to convey. So I will take it down.

      About 10 seconds later, another anti-dairy industry protester stormed the stage. Reacting with lightning speed, the former second lady swung around, extended her arms, grabbed her by the wrists and then blocked her with a stiff-arm.
      Wincing, she pushed the woman back as her husband and sister-in-law looked on with concern during the sudden confrontation.

      She was soon joined by Symone D. Sanders, the candidate’s senior adviser, who tackled the woman in a waist lock, and along with other staffers wrestled the protester offstage.

    I’m sitting in the Vacavalley Surgery Center lobby. Hubby is having cataract surgery and I’m sure it will go well. However, it’s a bemusing experience since I am in the epicenter (though different building) of the first community acquired COVID-19 infection. Life goes on.

    Roberts rebukes Schumer for saying justices will ‘pay the price’ for a vote against abortion rights

    Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. issued a rare rebuke of a sitting member of Congress on Wednesday, chastising the Senate’s top Democrat, Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, for saying at a rally outside the Supreme Court that President Trump’s two nominees to the court would “pay the price” for a vote against abortion rights.

    In a highly unusual statement issued by the court, the chief justice recounted comments Schumer (N.Y.) had directed at Neil M. Gorsuch and Brett M. Kavanaugh and said: “Justices know that criticism comes with the territory, but threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous. All members of the court will continue to do their job, without fear or favor, from whatever quarter.”

      Funding for healthcare research has been cut each year for about 25 years now, from what I’ve seen in the field and in academia. We should move to federal funding of important public-health research but I don’t see that happening soon.

    Sorry, i’m late to the game here. I had to finish grading midterms and prepare my lecture on swaps last night. I told my students that just when I think I’m going to talk about some disaster that happened in the past and it stays there that I think we’re about reading to see stuff unfold.

    And then I read that Connie Schulz article and I cried because all of the things I’ve fought my life for are still with us …

    I’m with Elizabeth and on this one from Connie Schulz and I cry for my daughters.

    “At my age, every act of sexism and misogyny is an encore production.”

    All three of us are in jobs nontraditional for women and all three of us still live the same shit in so many ways only know I’m an old woman and have that added burden.

      Down to 2 old white men. Funny how this works. Don’t feel like saying much about it — too disappointing. I did come to prefer Amy over Elizabeth, and Kamala earlier, but any of them would have given me heart. Now the best we can hope for in Nov is for Biden to win. Seeing him in office when Hillary should be re-inaugurated will be hard. But at least we can get Trump out.
