Wednesday Reads: Yes, Master

This week, the Justice Department…lead by Barr and tRump, swooped in…and shit all over what was left of any semblance we had of those three branches of government.

Extortion, blackmail, threats, and now railroaded court sentences…roadblock investigations, outright obstruction and interference.

I don’t know what we can do about this, since the Republicans handed tRump a kingly dictatorial crown of free reign, with that disgusting display of a “trial”.

It doesn’t look good.

Don’t know about a morbid sense of humor. I think the right word is cutting. Or vicious. Vicious works too.

Another day with Trump occupying the Oval Office, another major constitutional crisis … WTF is wrong with the Republican party ? Oh, wait, theyre greedy, ideological and don’t care about any one but themseves!

      The media doesn’t help matters:

Yes that says, even the scales.

      • NW Luna says:

“even the scales” WTF? We’re talking about extortion by the President* and his firing of a patriotic American who did his job, and told the truth. You can’t even the scales — all the power is on the side of the corrupt.

The most horrible part of it is Lt Col. Vindman telling his father not to worry; he didn’t fear retaliation because he was in America.

        • lililam says:

Vindman’s statement has always hauntingly reminded me of Anne Frank’s statement that she still believed people are really good at heart. Two innocent heroes, they are.

It’s how we’re wandering into Take Two knowing exactly what path we’re on with Take One still in living memory — sometimes I feel like I can’t even scream I’m so horrified. Like those nightmares where you can’t do a thing.

Sleep paralysis nightmare, but this is happening as we’re wide awake.

Deval Patrick, Senator Bennet, and Andrew Yang have all dropped out …

The “swamp creatures” surrounding Trump are bringing us to such low levels ever experienced by this nation.

What is more disheartening is that polls show almost 50% approve. I don’t know who is included in this poll but it is more than alarming that there exists a number that high that see nothing wrong in what is happening.

Welcome back to the 1930s when laws were rewritten in Germany that paved the way for the Holocaust.

Is this the trajectory that we are aiming for? What is wrong with these people who support this insanity?

House Dems continue to do good work.

The House Oversight Committee on Wednesday asked the Secret Service to provide a full accounting of its payments to President Trump’s private company — after The Washington Post revealed that the Secret Service had been charged up to $650 per night for rooms at Trump clubs.

In a letter to the Secret Service, signed by chair Carolyn B. Maloney (D-N.Y.) and member Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif,) the committee asks for any records of payments to Trump properties, and copies of any contracts between the Secret Service and Trump clubs.

Last week, The Post reported that the Secret Service had been charged up to $650 per night for rooms at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida, and charged $17,000 a month for a cottage that agents used at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, N.J. President Trump still owns his companies. These payments show he has an unprecedented — and largely hidden — business relationship with his own government.

The Secret Service is legally required to send Congress a report every six months on its spending to protect presidential residences. But since the start of Trump’s term, the letter said, the Secret Service has provided only three of the required six reports. And, even in those three, the lines for spending at Trump’s Bedminster and Mar-a-Lago clubs are both blank, the committee said. The letter asks the Secret Service to explain why.
