The Sky Dancing banner headline uses a snippet from a work by artist Tashi Mannox called 'Rainbow Study'. The work is described as a" study of typical Tibetan rainbow clouds, that feature in Thanka painting, temple decoration and silk brocades". dakinikat was immediately drawn to the image when trying to find stylized Tibetan Clouds to represent Sky Dancing. It is probably because Tashi's practice is similar to her own. His updated take on the clouds that fill the collection of traditional thankas is quite special.
You can find his work at his website by clicking on his logo below. He is also a calligraphy artist that uses important vajrayana syllables. We encourage you to visit his on line studio.

(Black) Witness in Amber Guyger murder case found shot dead in Dallas

Yes, this is disturbing….
Somehow, I wonder if he’d been shot if he was white. I’m guessing a cop friend of Guyger or another racist cop murdered Brown.
I *love* that painting!
Oh hell. This is aimed against the Kurds in northern Syria. They have pretty much the only functioning government in the region. They’ve also helped the US a good bit, mainly because they get help in return I think.
So let’s ruin the only halfway stable situation in Syria to pander to a dictator whose dearest wish is to destroy the Kurds because he doesn’t like having them in southeastern Turkey (across the border from Syrian and Iraqi Kurdistan).
Erdogan is terrified the Kurds in the whole region (stretches across northern Syria and Iraq to western Iran) could decide to be a nation and he’d lose “his” Kurds and their territory. He would love to take over the Kurdish territory in Syria which, a) would piss off the Syrians massively, b) would piss off the Kurds even more massively who would fight to the last man and woman standing.
(Ethnically and linguistically the groups are all very different: Turks are descended from Central Asian Huns and speak a Turkic language. Kurds are related to Persians and Armenians and speak an Iranian language. Syrians in the rest of Syria are mostly Arabs. There’s the same level of difference between all of them as there is between, say, the French and Russians.)
So, anyway: a right royal mess.
Thanks for that info. I know they are different cultural groups but didn’t remember all the language distinctions.
Anything Trump does — or decides not to do — in the Middle East is bound to be trouble, especially when he is helping one of his favorite strongmen dictators. He also had to slam our allies (are they still allies of the US?) in his statement.
I’m trying to write on this this morning It appears troops are moving already.
