Wednesday Reads: Cat Warfare

There is a new Twitter feed that I think you all should check out:

Boston Boomer, I think you have a new source of images for your Saturday Caturday post….

But as the top picture illustrates, Cats in the Military is not a new thing…

This is an open thread.

Anyone listen to the climate change debate?

nope … 7 hours was way too much for me …

I saw a sort-of kind-of summary from a Harris fan who said she presented an excellent plan. One with green jobs and retraining front and center, which I think is very important. Castro apparently also made sense.

Warren’s plan was said to be very much like Inslee’s, which is a good thing since his plan is good, but at least that writer (don’t remember who she was) said Warren didn’t credit him. ! That, to me, is very weird. She’s an academic. She knows not to do that.

Oh, yes, and Biden’s plan is aparently to go for all that neat new geoengineering somebody told him about, build lots of nukes, and go to fundraisers with fossil fuel execs whose jobs he knew nothing about. Nothing! *hard eyeroll*

Warren has tweeted that she’s using Inslee’s plan and has had several discussions with him.

      • NW Luna says:

Ms. Warren’s new climate plan explicitly adopts ideas from Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington, who focused his presidential campaign on combating climate change but dropped out last month after it became clear he was unlikely to qualify for the next primary debate. Ms. Warren met with Mr. Inslee last week in Seattle, according to two people familiar with their discussions.

“While his presidential campaign may be over, his ideas should remain at the center of the agenda,” Ms. Warren wrote in her new climate plan.

        • quixote says:

I gather what that person had an issue with was that Warren didn’t tell Inslee she was going to use his plan or credit him at the outset. There was apparently some interview with CNN (?) where he was asked about this and he said something to the effect that, ‘this is an open plan. We put it out there for anyone to use.’ Which would suggest that she credited him only after people got wound up about it? Or is this another one of those Twitter-gets-imaginary-bee-in-bonnet kind of things?

          • NW Luna says:

Huh. I had the impression she did talk with him before releasing her (their) plan, but I could be wrong. Also, that’s not the same as crediting Inslee when announcing your plan or thanking him on your plan’s web page. I know I’ve certainly tweeted pointed replies to people who don’t give Inslee credit.
