This is very true – I’ve had cats my whole long adult life (have 5 now). My Himalayan was very different in that he never fought with the other cats – he was very accommodating of the rescues I would bring in. This is apparently a characteristic associated with Persians and related breeds like Himalayans. He was a sweetheart…. RIP ❤

We buried my uncle this weekend. On what would have been his 81st birthday.
He was the first person I consciously remember wanting to be like.
He was kind and generous and brilliant and stylish and sophisticated and talented and funny.
When I was little I thought he was the smartest man in the world.
He was also gay. His birthday fell on the same day as the pride parade.
    His partner was there.
I am not sure how long they were together but it was longer than I have been alive.
It was a beautiful day, and I don’t mean the weather.

What a wonderful tribute to what certainly was a wonderful man. It sounds like he had a full life with folks that loved and supported him. May his memory be a blessing! XoXO

Condolences, Ron. He sounds like a wonderful man. It could not have been easy for him but it sounds like he lived his life with a lot of dignity.

We lost my oldest aunt last week and her funeral is tomorrow. She was 92. She lived through the Depression, WWII and the loss of her oldest son. She was very kind and selfless.

      RIP ❤

He sounds like a wonderful man, Ron. I’d say you take after him.

I wish I were more like him. He was one of the original Freedom Riders. He actually DID march with Dr King. He spoke French, Germany, Spanish and Russian and served in Germany in the 60’s. I makes me smile to even think of him.

Thanks for all your kind words.

Gentle hugs for you Ron. Your uncle sounds a wonderful man — no wonder he was a role model for you. May his memory be for a blessing.
