Wednesday Reads: ¡Ay, Dios mío!

The perfect example of today’s culture? Am I right?

Last night on Lawrence O’Donnell, Neal Katyal (@neal_katyal) / Twitter started his conversation about all this Barr shit hitting the Mueller fan last night by saying the phrase….¡Ay, Dios mío!

It made me laugh like hell.

We are going to need an actual “delousing” when this corrupt administration finally comes to an end.

So many lies and liars. So many enablers and sycophants. So many broken institutions.

    The stench just keeps growing,

  2. Lindsey Graham is totally grandstanding at the Barr hearing. Talking nonstop about Hillary and emails.

    • bostonboomer says:

I muted him, and I just noticed that’s what he’s talking about. LOL! What an idiot.

    • bostonboomer says:

    • Fannie says:

When it comes to the GOP, it’s always and forever about Hillary Clinton’s emails.

      • Enheduanna says:

I hope that backfires on them because there is absolutely NOTHING there and people with any scintilla of sense know that by now. The fact they won’t drop it belies a certain level of contempt for their constituency. “But her emails” is a huge meme on the Innertubes. It’s laughable when they bring that and Benghazi up. It’s also sexist as hell and they can’t afford to lose more women voters.

        • Fannie says:

Exactly Enheduanna, they don’t care about the woman’s vote anymore…………I can’t wait to watch Hillary Clinton on Rachel Maddow tonight.

  3. Not a fan of Cillizza but he’s headlining that Barr is in deep trouble….

…which I’ll believe when I see him resign.

    • bostonboomer says:

He should be impeached, even if the Senate won’t convict.

      • Oh yeah. Trump should be impeached! I just think Barr has been totally reprehensible— if he’s really in as much trouble as the media is egging on, then Barr should resign. But I doubt it.

        • bostonboomer says:

I meant that Barr should be impeached.

          • Ah, didn’t realize he could be.

          • Fannie says:

            Agreed, impeach Wm. Barr.

          • Enheduanna says:

I’d rather see them impeach Kavanaugh and simply fire Barr when we get a Dem POTUS in 2020.

          • bostonboomer says:

Cabinet members can be impeached. Also 2020 will be much too late IMO.

          • Enheduanna says:

Dump will just find another toady AG. If we can gain the WH and Senate in 2020 I’d like to see impeachment proceedings for Kavanaugh for lying to Congress.

I do think one of Pelosi’s concerns about impeachment proceedings is when the pendulum swings back – and it will – there will be tit for tat because that’s how GOPers roll. Dump and Kavanaugh need to go but I think the House has it’s hands full. AG is not a lifetime appointment.

          • quixote says:

It’s a fundamental mistake to think if the Dems hold back from doing something, anything, then the Repubs will too.

They’re not believers in tit for tat. These are the people who were going to start impeaching Clinton on Day 1 of her Presidency and who were going to stifle any Supreme Court appointments she might make.

Holding back to set an example is a fool’s errand with that mob.

          • NW Luna says:

        • Enheduanna says:

Point taken. But I’d still rather see Kavanaugh and Dump impeached. Politics is politics and we should choose our battles wisely. Impeaching everybody conjures visions of the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland.

  4. MSNBC keeps cutting away to correct Barr’s lies.

    • Enheduanna says:

What a sexist jerk. Meanwhile Dump won’t give up his unsecured cell phone – and that’s just for starters.

      • NW Luna says:

Surprised he’s not yelling “There is no gravity!” That’d make about as much sense.

  6. RonStill4Hills says:

    Outstanding cartoons today!

They are always good, but today you pushed all my buttons in a good way!

  7. Pilgrim says:

It’s rather interesting to view the facial expressions of the Democratic senators as they confront the mind-blowing obtrusiveness of Barr.

  8. bostonboomer says:

Wow. Barr just admitted that no one in his office looked at the evidence backing up the report!

  9. bostonboomer says:

  10. NW Luna says:

    Meanwhile …..

The Trump administration has signaled in recent weeks that it may seek the permanent renewal of a surveillance law that has, among other things, enabled the National Security Agency to gather and analyze Americans’ phone records as part of terrorism investigations, according to five U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

The White House, these officials said, was prepared to issue a public statement calling on Congress to reauthorize in full Section 215 of the Patriot Act, which in the past has been the focus of heated debate over the acceptable bounds of government surveillance.

Watch Cory Booker’s face as he tries to keep from laughing at Barr squirming when Kamala questions him.
