Five days of fury: Inside Trump’s Paris temper, election woes and staff upheaval – The Washington Post

As he jetted to Paris last Friday, President Trump received a congratulatory phone call aboard Air Force One. British Prime Minister Theresa May was calling to celebrate the Republican Party’s wins in the midterm elections — never mind that Democrats seized control of the House — but her appeal to the American president’s vanity was met with an ornery outburst.

Trump berated May for Britain not doing enough, in his assessment, to contain Iran. He questioned her over Brexit and complained about the trade deals he sees as unfair with European countries. May has endured Trump’s churlish temper before, but still her aides were shaken by his especially foul mood, according to U.S. and European officials briefed on the conversation.

For Trump, that testy call set the tone for five days of fury — evident in Trump’s splenetic tweets and described in interviews with 14senior administration officials, outside Trump confidants and foreign diplomats, many of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

Ugh…this is an open thread.

He just keeps giving the world so much material – on how to misbehave and being rude!

It’s mortifying. So his behavior in Paris was because he was pissed off. After January he’s going to be up against a Democratic Congress and it’s going to be very ugly I’m afraid.

I just hope if he tries to start a war between now and 2020 the commanders ignore him.

He is a total embarrassment; never really matured mentally, full of hate and anxiety. Hillary was so right.

Those cartoons of soldiers fighting in the cold, the mud, and the rain, with bullets ahead and around them — while Cadet Bone Spurs sits in his warm dry hotel room or in the White House. Incredible contrast. He is vile.

Thanks for putting in the comic on WA state’s new gun regulations.

With how the NRA is screaming you’d never know that it’s a mild attempt to rein in gun violence. The initiative (opposed by the NRA) was sponsored by a father whose son was shot in a mass school shooting by a 19 y.o. who’d bought an AR-15 a week before.

It raises the age from 18 to 21 for buying a semi-automatic rifle. Requires an enhanced background check, a firearms-training course, and a wait of 10 business days before
    getting the weapon.

It also creates legal responsibility for gun owners if anyone else uses the weapon unless it’s stored with some type of lock.
