Sunday, Labor Day, Open Thread…

Good morning.

Today is just a simple open thread. My migraine is off the charts, I can barely see what I am typing.

And…remember September is Ovarian Cancer Month:

If this massive headache goes away, I will write a post later on down the line.

This is an open thread.

So sorry, JJ. I was plagued with monthly migraines until menopause. Take your meds, drink a strong cup of coffee and inform one and all you’ll be in bed for the day. Hope you feel better soon.

JJ, don’t worry about posting more — yes, in bed with the shades pulled and hopefully a quiet house. Or earplugs.

For many women, unfortunately, migraines continue through and after menopause.

    I’m with Paul today.

The Pullman strike and Labor Day

In response to the economic depression that began in 1893, the Pullman Palace Car Co., which manufactured railroad cars, cut the wages of its workers 25 percent. A group of workers tried to take their grievances to company president George M. Pullman, but he refused to meet with them and ordered them fired. A delegation of workers then voted to strike, marching out of work on May 11.
