    Really good selection today, JJ. The ones on the murdered journalists are especially hard-hitting.

    America’s nonviolent civil rights movement was considered uncivil by critics at the time

    The allegation that contemporary activists expressing ardently peaceful dissatisfaction with the precarious state of American democracy are promoting violence, incivility or worse is a long-running tactic used to stifle change.

    Black college students who engaged in peaceful sit-ins at lunch counters that denied them service because of the color of their skin were criticized for behavior that, however passive, appeared provocative to defenders of the status quo. What movement activists proudly characterized as “putting your body on the line” in promotion of racial justice and radical democracy was, in certain quarters, demonized as the unpatriotic behavior of communist-inspired subversives.

    My Dearest Daughters;

    I struggled through the horrid stench of ketchup drowned burnt filet to sneak into the camps of the Red Caps. I used my best WASP mimicry to infiltrate. Future battle plans include storming New Orleans to rescue some old statue of Lee from a secret warehouse.

    But our Battle of New Orleans is put off until the red caps try to eat at Chickie Wah Wah’s. I didn’t tell them it wasn’t a Dominionist chicken restaurant. Their ears are likely to explode from the sound of black jazz bands. Drag Queens have their rear.

      Dear Daughters;

      The Drag Queens have captured Corporal “Bottom Buns” Pence so General Donald “Bone Spurs” Trump must be held up near the long abandoned Trump Tower site. General “Big” Freedia took pity on the littlest corporal as he was said to be repeatedly crying “mother”. She handed him over to the Bear Regiment and he appears at peace and keeps mumbling that he can finally “be himself”.

      Still no sign of the White Rage Muffin Platoon. We believe they have headed to Mid City to check city pools, lemonade stands, and the BBQ grills of City Park for black people. They seem especially angered by the news that General”Rev” Sharpton arrived yesterday with reinforcements. We’re not sure about their plan to surround the Superdome at Essence fest while dialing 911 until their fingers bleed and their last screeches fade but we are prepared with a show of permits as well as pamphlets on what it means to fake dial 911.

      The NOPD is prepared for them. All real 911 calls will be sent to the call center. The others will be sent to an endlessly looped automatic answering system.

      Dear Daughters;
      Bad News! A cadre of “General Bone Spurs” Trump’s cabinet is said to be approaching from the east! It came from the direction of Honey Island Swamp! This can only mean the infamous Pruitt’s Raiders are heading towards the Ritz Carlton on Canal Street for supplies of body lotions!
      We’ve already spotted Colonel Jeffrey Beauregard Sessions in the grey uniform section of the Confederate Memorial Hall. A contingent of History profs from Tulane, Loyalla, and Xavier have been sent to study him. He’s aptly named “the world’s oldest Living Confederate widow”. They’ve sent for reinforcements from the Anthropology department to explain why his pants are down and he’s making odd hand movements.
      I’ll write as soon as possible.
      Your loving Mother

    Ahhh, the “Civility” issue raised by one who doesn’t know how to be civil. I feel that there’s way to much civility in today’s discourse. When the lout was stalking Hilary on the debate stage, had she turned around, got into his face and barked at him “Sit down creep” and kept staring at him until he did, she’d be the president right now.

    No, I’m not going to be civil to the minions of a child abuser, kidnapper or Mother-F**ker. These are appellations that Putin’s bitch has clearly earned.

      Canada may not be a world power, but they have national healthcare, lower maternal and child mortality, and an intelligent Prime Minister who speaks two languages and wears rainbow socks.

    May all SkyDancers and their companion animals have a few hours of sleep despite fireworks and cannon, have no lawns nor cars burnt by the neighbors’ rockets, and suffer no asthma attacks from fireworks smoke, nor blood-pressure crises from explosive high-decible booms. May the 5th of July be here soon.
