Happy Wednesday everyone. Hope the weather is OK up North. It’s gorgeous in ATL but very windy.

Someone is going to have to explain the toon from Costa Rica to me – the one with the “infinity” hairdo – lol (it’s funny though).

    Another day, another WH scandal!

America just keeps “winning” as the President Unfit and family raid the Treasury and bring the nation to the brink of collapse!

Jesus, will this nightmare never end?

    Jared. Marked down.

Hahahahahaha. I may not stop laughing all day.

    Yet another Classy republican.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s first shot at his expected Democratic challenger, Rep. Beto O’Rourke? Mocking his name. — As Tuesday’s primaries were closing …

O’Rourke said he’s gone by “Beto” since he was born.
“My parents have called me Beto from day one, and it’s just — it’s kind of a nickname for Robert in El Paso. It just stuck,” he said in a brief phone interview Tuesday night.
O’Rourke has previously posted a baby picture of himself in a hand-stitched “Beto” sweater on Instagram.

    Blue tsunami building up:

Democratic voters show up in force in Texas and Republicans warn supporters

Democratic voters showed up in force in Texas on Tuesday for the nation’s first primary of the year, providing fresh evidence that liberal enthusiasm could reshape even deeply Republican states come November.

Near-final Election Day tallies tempered the most ambitious hopes of Texas Democrats, with Republicans casting about a half-million more overall ballots statewide, indicating that chances of claiming the Senate seat now held by Ted Cruz (R) or other statewide offices remain slim.

Still, Democrats could rightly boast about a major boost over their 2014 primary turnout, nearly doubling the number of votes cast. And the increases were most pronounced in urban and suburban areas where the party is hoping to reclaim House seats now held by Republicans.

For instance, in the Houston area’s 7th Congressional District, where incumbent John Abney Culberson (R) is seeking reelection, four times as many Democrats voted this year than in 2014.

Stormy Daniels is just one reason Donald Trump couldn’t work in his own White House

As veterans of the Office of the White House Counsel under presidents of both parties, we have worked with hundreds of officials seeking ethics and security clearances in order to work in the federal government. Fourteen months into this presidency, it is increasingly obvious that there is a man in the White House now who would not be able to get such clearances if he were not the president.

Every day brings a new reason why President Trump cannot meet the standards expected of every single person who works for him (except for the vice president). Take recent reports about the payment Trump attorney Michael Cohen “facilitated” for porn actress Stormy Daniels to help Trump in the waning days of the 2016 campaign. Despite Cohen’s carefully worded denials that he was not reimbursed by the Trump Organization or the Trump campaign, this week brought the news that he complained to friends that Trump had been slow to reimburse him, and that Trump was supposed to sign the settlement agreement under an assumed name.

No snow in Boston yet, but they’re saying now we’ll get 10 inches overnight.

Stay home and hunker down, BB

    • Pat Johnson says:

It has been snowing here since 1:30. And it is now beginning to stick.

    • joanelle says:

It started around 9:30 this morning here in NJ. We’ve got lots of wires/trees down and close to 3′ of snow on the ground at this point. fortunately I had no appointments today – so just hunkered down all day.

      • Joanelle says:

The snow stopped around 8:00 last night, the ground hog needs to retire, this is not an early spring, the final measure is 26 1/2 inches on the ground in our yard !

To be fair, just about everybody (except Hillary) has been hacked. Unless she did something like click on a link that led to, it’s not really evidence of being unusually dumb.

The evidence of that is her working for the Dump. Different issue, though.

…Legal experts said Mr. Trump’s contact with the men most likely did not rise to the level of witness tampering. But witnesses and lawyers who learned about the conversations viewed them as potentially a problem…

“most likely did not” but it sure does not pass the sniff test.

  15. NW Luna says:

Can you imagine this in the US? Neither can I. The US also has plenty of places understaffed; we just don’t hear about them when they’re in a private care setting.

Hundreds of Canadian doctors demand lower salaries

As of Wednesday afternoon, more than 700 physicians, residents and medical students from the Canadian province had signed an online petition asking for their pay raises to be canceled. A group named Medecins Quebecois Pour le Regime (MQRP), which represents Quebec doctors and advocates for public health, started the petition Feb. 25.

“We, Quebec doctors who believe in a strong public system, oppose the recent salary increases negotiated by our medical federations,” the petition reads in French.

The physicians group said it could not in good conscience accept pay raises when working conditions remained difficult for others in their profession — including nurses and clerks — and while patients “live with the lack of access to required services because of drastic cuts in recent years.”

30 days? This is stupid on top of incredibly stupid.

Trump to offer temporary 30-day tariff exemption for Canada and Mexico

President Trump is planning to offer Canada and Mexico a temporary exemption from new tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, reversing his original insistence that the measures apply to U.S. allies as well as nations like China, administration officials said Wednesday.

One version of the plan, which was still being finalized ahead of an expected announcement on Thursday, would give Canada and Mexico a 30-day exemption from the tariffs, the officials said. The exemptions could be extended based on progress in renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement.

What a Dump that garbage pile is. I’m sure he imagines this is super-tough negotiating. Get a chokehold, and then say you’ll loosen up if the victim obeys. Meanwhile the chokehold strangles *everybody*.

I heard a wild rumor that somebody knowledgeable said it looked like Mueller might indict that Dump this coming week. I don’t believe it, but I can dream.

      • NW Luna says:

Like Bannon, he wants to tear America down in his rage. Yes, he wants to sell America off for parts, but now that he’s really finding out how much he’s hated and disrespected — and how close Mueller is — I think he wants to do as much damage as possible before getting dragged off to prison.

Yes, to exclude the US Ambassador shows Kushner’s up to shady business.
      As usual.

  18. NW Luna says:

Another one, allegedly “accidental.” Yeah, the gun was sheerly accidental. The accident would have happened anyway even if the gun wasn’t there, uh-huh.

One student was killed and another teen was injured when a gun discharged at an Alabama high school Wednesday in what police described as an accidental shooting.

The incident took place at Huffman High in Birmingham between 3:15 and 3:30 p.m., and sparked a brief lockdown at the school, according to police and school officials. Birmingham Police Chief Orlando Wilson said the shooting left a 17-year-old girl dead and a 17-year-old boy wounded.

“At this particular time, we’re considering it accidental until the investigation takes us elsewhere,” the chief said at an evening news conference. He would not say if the suspected shooter was a student, but added: “It’s not a situation where someone from the outside came into the school.”
