Wednesday Reads: “Ain’t it like Roy Moore to not take no for an answer.”

Here it is in live tweet format…in case anyone wants to retweet it:

This was the second best tweet:

I am so happy Doug Jones pulled out that win, what a relief.

Of course, like the top tweet references:

However, the rules for the recount are as follows:

I haven’t checked my twit feed…what disaster has befallen upon us today?

  2. dakinikat says:

WTF is wrong with white women? WTF is wrong with them?

    • Minkoff Minx says:

      It is disturbing and disgusting.

    • quixote says:

Be fair. What The F is wrong with ANYONE who votes for out and proud garbage?

    • NW Luna says:

Yes, anyone voting for Moore has something wrong with them. Seems the white women get the most scrutiny and blame — because we expect them to know better? — and the white men don’t get blamed as much. Black women deservedly are praised for their votes yet black men don’t seem to get as much credit.

      • NW Luna says:

The majority of white women in my blue state voted for Hillary so I always do a mental double-take hearing white women blamed for Trump.

      • RonStill4Hills says:

        That is kind of weird.

I think women period are expected to pragmatically rise above while men are expected to be brutish and behind the evolutionary curve.

      • Enheduanna says:

We expect women to be repulsed by a molester. Unfortunately there are a lot of “boys will be boys” type of women.

        • NW Luna says:

Many are brainwashed from a young age and then again by their husbands.

          • Enheduanna says:

I’d go a step further and say we’re all poisoned with misogyny and racism – from Day One. We may think we’re immune but the social conditioning is there, whether we want it to be or not. It takes more than just telling yourself you’re above all that.

          • palhart says:

Yes, that is how the black woman on Katy Tur’s show today explained the difference between the white and black women’s votes. White women vote like their husbands, fathers, brothers, or boy friends, (feeding the patriarchy). Black women vote for the candidates who will be best for them, their families, and their communities.

Bless every one of those black women Jones voters who have brought me out of the doldrums, and helped bring this democracy back from destruction. Now, may the Republicans’ pact with the devil explode to smithereens!

          • RonStill4Hills says:

They have been convinced that a win for liberals is a loss for White Christians male and females.

Dems have become the party of blacks, fags, foreigners, non-Christians, and non-conforming-Christians.

Repugs have become the party of God-fearing White people.

At least in the minds of the deplorables.

A win for decency is a loss for Jesus in there warped world view.

    • NW Luna says:

The Donald knows what “hence” means? And in the same tweet misspells “media.” LOL. Orange Caligua is having a temper tantrum.

Alabama election result seen as ‘miracle’ in a Europe horrified by Trump

Roy Moore’s defeat in the Tuesday special election may have come as a relief to liberal Americans, but in Europe it was taken as a sign that the United States has not totally lost its moral compass.

Trump’s low approval ratings in Europe have defied partisan lines. Not only liberals but also many conservatives here have viewed his remarks about banning Muslims, building a wall and pulling out of climate and trade deals as populist and divisive.

  7. NW Luna says:

LOL Is Bernie howling for the FBI’s blood because of this description of him?

…Strzok calling “Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt.), Clinton’s rival in the race for the Democratic nomination, an idiot like Trump.

  8. NW Luna says:

Hmmm. Watch for obstruction coming out of the AL SOS’s office.

  9. NW Luna says:

This explains quite a bit about how white women vote.

    • quixote says:

I noticed that there was some miniscule number of black women said to have voted for Moore. And that was my first thought: I bet they’re in one of these loony evangelical congregations. Cults we called them when they first became a thing in the 1970s, and we were right the first time.

(#NotAllEvangelicals of course. There are plenty of black evangelical churches that I know of in the South (not familiar with the situation elsewhere), and their focus is service to the poor and suchlike recognizably Christian things.)

      The #EmptyThePews people are right.
