But the bullshit remains the same:

Oh and…another thing:

And with this going on…let’s remember a part of the NYTs article that may get drowned out by the rest of this shit:

For fucking hell. Let’s just get on with it…

This is an open thread….

But here is one more tweet to get you going.

MSNBC Ending Lawrence O’Donnell “The Last Word” Show Despite Top Ratings (Exclusive)

    http://www.showbiz411.com/2017/05/15/msnbc-ending-lawrence-odonnell-the-last-word-show-despite-top-ratings

My NBC sources say that O’Donnell’s tireless criticism of Donald Trump is the cause of the trouble. O’Donnell calls Trump a liar on TV almost ever night. Says my observer: “Phil Griffin fought back Trump’s demands to Comcast chief Steve Burke that O’Donnell get fired for years. But now he’s president and now it’s Andy Lack’s decision and Andy has never run a single promo for O’Donnell and he wants access to Trump for Lester Holt interview and more.”
Morale at NBC News has been low for some time. My source says: “This version of NBC news would have handed the Pentagon papers back to the Pentagon. The New York Times and Washington Post remain our best hope.”
Maybe Bill O’Reilly will take his place. Maybe pigs will fly.

Stifling the truth? Rumors are they are thinking of putting Hugh Hewitt into that time slot.

I only watch the evening line up: Hayes, Rachel and Lawrence. Also Joy Reed on Sat and Sunday. Matthews is unpredictable. Kornacki unbearable. Williams insufferable.

I refuse to watch Greta or Chuck Todd. All they do is bring on guests who represent the Right. Steele, Schlapp, Sykes, GOP congress critters, etc. I refuse to watch Morning Joe or
      Andrea Mitchell.

Take away Lawrence and watch those ratings plunge. If I want the GOP point of view I can turn to Fox.

How long can Rachel last in that environment?

      • bostonboomer says:

I’ve stopped watching Chris Hayes because he has either Bernie Sanders or Michael Moore on constantly. If they’re getting rid of Lawrence, Rachel is probably next. Disgusting.

      • bostonboomer says:

Kornacki lost his show already, replaced by Michelle Wallace, former Bush staffer.

    • bostonboomer says:

      Wow.

NBC must have a vested interest in covering up reality. So why is Rachel Maddow still on?

Impossible to have an informed electorate when so much of the electorate swallows this slanted swill.

I hope I live long enough to get into Comcast/NBC’s desired demographic. I’m only 63, and won’t be in that coveted 75 – 95 age range for another dozen years. “Those erectile dysfunction pills and adult diapers ain’t going to sell themselves, Johnny, and we need to appeal to the same nursing home crowd as FOX if we’re going to survive!” Yeah, being in the dementia unit is probably the only way you could force me to watch tv news again. Mr. O’Donnell (and Rachel Maddow, if they come for her next) should go the Olbermann route, and get on the media delivery system that most people are watching and getting their information from. I listen to Rachel everyday — on her podcast. Don’t need to be paying cable bills to stay informed. In fact, I’m far better informed using the internet, and can partake on my own schedule, and listen to and read the sources that are trustworthy without being force fed the liars and creeps.

The 2013 trashing of the Voting Rights Act was one of the top reasons we lost the Electoral College last year. It’s only going to get worse with the continuing voter suppression measures passed and being planned by the Rethugs. Berman knows voting rights history and issues through and through.

You didn’t have to be a political genius—or a genius of any kind, really—to see that Donald Trump was going to be a disaster at being president. He clearly has no interest in politics or policy and doesn’t understand, or care to understand, the basics of the job. The Trump platform consists of unbelievable and unconstitutional lies all bound up with racist pipe dreams about how to Make America 1952 Again. To call Trump a con man is to insult hardworking, skilled con men and women the world over. Trump just recognized easy marks when he saw them, and told them what they wanted to hear. And what they wanted to hear was that someone else’s suffering would help them get ahead.

That’s how we got here. Sixty-three million ignorant, desperate and delusional Americans voted for a man uniquely unqualified to be president. Predictably, Trump has mucked up the task at every turn. On the rare occasions he shows up to work instead of golfing, Trump screws up with a frequency that can’t be measured by any currently available metric.

        1. Intelligence officials have to warn other countries not to tell him secrets.
        2. NATO officials have to dumb down everything for him.
        3. His staff is afraid he’ll blab stuff unless someone keeps an eye on him.
        4. He is easily fooled.
        5. Officials say he’s too incompetent and uninterested to give away any important details.

        All with sources ….

        • NW Luna says:

Trump is nightmare enough, along with the masses of ignorant and/or racist misogynist voters who put him in office (and I’m including the 3rd-party “purists” and the “they’re all bad” types in there too). The Republicans in Congress pile on to make the whole clusterfk a trifecta of callous incompetent greedhead scam interests.

          • Enheduanna says:

I include the Dems who were too lazy to go to the polls as well. The only possible excuse they have is that by all accounts, Hillary had it locked up. But overall only 40% of eligible voters showed up. 40%. Pathetic.

They can’t impeach this ahole fast enough for me – Pence or no Pence. We’ll just have to deal with each ahole that comes up – one at a time.

Breaking! A Special Counsel has been appointed to take over the Russia investigation. Former FBI Director, Robert Mueller

  7. bostonboomer says:

It happened again. I went out for about 4 hours and I heard the news on the way home. News breaks every afternoon now.

I’m getting whiplash from trying to keep up!

New special counsel Robert Mueller has history of standing up to the White House

Robert S. Mueller III, who served as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation during the last two administrations, brings to his new role as special counsel a proven willingness to take on a sitting president.

In a high-drama episode in 2004, he and then-Deputy Attorney General James B. Comey were preparing to resign from their positions if President Bush reauthorized the National Security Agency’s warrantless wiretap program without changes. Bush backed down.

Now, Mueller is charged with another politically fraught mission: the investigation of possible coordination between President Trump’s associates and Russian officials seeking to meddle in the 2016 campaign.
