Sunday Lite Is Alright

Ack!!!

Damn if you could only hear what I’ve got drumming into my brain at this moment.

On into my right ear…my mom is listening to the BB King Blues channel on Sirius. Which I usually enjoy with abandon. In fact I have been able to pick out some wonderful tunes here and there. (I say this because…going into my left ear is whatever shitty show that man is watching upstairs.) I have no idea what he is watching because when I asked him what the hell that crap was he has blasting on the TV, he responded that it was a show called…”Shut yo mouth.”

Let me pop another Prozac and call it a day.

So with all this noise going on, I present the best I can do, a cartoon post. Which is probably the only thing many of us can actually comprehend today…with all the latest poll mush and establishment news. Not to mention the snow and wet and cold hitting most of the nation, East of the Mississippi.

Let’s get this shit on the road, cartoons start now:

  2. One more update, this from Georgia…in a shocking turn of events: Atlanta-area police officer charged with felony murder for shooting Anthony Hill | US news | The Guardian

A white Atlanta-area police officer who shot a naked, mentally ill black veteran who was unarmed has been indicted on felony murder and other charges.

The decision came on Thursday after DeKalb County prosecutors presented their case against Officer Robert Olsen, who fatally shot Anthony Hill on 9 March 2015 while responding to a call of a naked man behaving erratically outside a suburban Atlanta apartment complex.

The family of the 27-year-old Hill says the US air force veteran struggled with mental health problems. Tensions between police and minorities have risen across the country in the aftermath of a series of shootings mostly involving white law enforcement officers and unarmed African-American men. However, critics in Hill’s case, including his family, have focused more on his mental health than on his race, and on whether force should have been used because he was unarmed.

DeKalb County district attorney Robert James said a warrant had been issued for Olsen’s arrest. After announcing the indictment, James said prosecutors presented evidence for eight hours but declined to give many other details.

Olsen was indicted on two counts each of felony murder and violating his oath of office and one count each of aggravated assault and making a false statement.

The felony murder counts do not indicate malice, but rather that Olsen killed someone during the commission of another felony, in this case aggravated assault or violation of his oath of office, James said. Olsen violated the department’s use of force policy and lied during the investigation, falsely saying Hill hit him in the chest before the shooting, James said.

    • ANonOMouse says:

I hope they convict this bastard. Maybe a few convictions will make some of these shoot first, pay attention later, cops decide to leave Law Enforcement altogether.

    • NW Luna says:

Wow. Surprising that this cop did not get away with it. Could this be an indication of a turning point? I hope so.

  3. Fannie says:

You did the best evah! I really liked all the Flint Cartoons, shows what a big fine mess Snyder has produced, he ought to face jail time, and if I had to vote, it would be Rachel Maddow’s disestablishmentarians………..cracked me up.

Sorry to hear we lost so many in this blizzard of 2016, and hope things get back to normal for all the Skydancers, and families dealing with snow, and flooding, and lost of lives.

  4. ANonOMouse says:

    Loved the Bernie toon, JJ!

  5. bostonboomer says:

Bernie Sanders has completely lost it. From the WaPo:

Sanders opens his rallies by ticking through the latest polls — an uncharacteristic touch of bravado intended to convince Democrats that he is not only viable in a general election but a stronger standard-bearer against the Republicans than Clinton.

He also is attacking Clinton more directly, not only on policy differences but also on personal character, demonstrating that he has both the stomach and the punch for a political brawl — even one against the Clintons and their defenders.

The Sanders pivot was evident in an interview with The Washington Post on Saturday as he flew on a chartered jet — itself a change for a candidate who used to fold himself into the middle seats of Southwest Airlines planes — from his home in Burlington, Vt., to Iowa for his final week of campaigning here….

Over the course of The Post interview, Sanders said Clinton was running a “desperate” campaign incapable of generating the kind of excitement his has. He raised questions about her motives and character. He said he expects Clinton and her campaign to “throw the kitchen sink” at him in the coming week in what he described as a craven attempt to avoid an embarrassing loss in Iowa.

You have to read this! Sanders has let all the attention go to his head. He’s drunk with power.

  6. joanelle says:

    Hot dog!

  7. bostonboomer says:

    From First Read at NBC:

Obama doesn’t see Clinton vs. Sanders as a repeat of 2008

Politico’s Glenn Thrush interviewed President Obama and asked him if the Clinton vs. Sanders race resembles his 2008 contest with Clinton. Sanders resembled his 2008 campaign. His answer: “I don’t think that’s true. I think that what is — you know, if you look at both of them, I think they’re both passionate about giving everybody a shot. I think they’re both passionate about kids having a great education. I think they want to make sure everybody has health care. I think that they both believe in a tax system that is fair and not tilted towards, you know, the folks at the very top. But, you know, they — I think Bernie came in with the luxury of being a complete longshot and just letting loose. I think Hillary came in with the — both privilege and burden of being perceived as the frontrunner.” Thrush’s takeaway from the interview: Obama “couldn’t hide his obvious affection for Clinton or his implicit feeling that she, not Sanders, best understands the unpalatably pragmatic demands of a presidency he likens to the world’s most challenging walk-and-chew-gum exercise. ‘[The] one thing everybody understands is that this job right here, you don’t have the luxury of just focusing on one thing,’ a relaxed and reflective Obama told me in his most expansive discussion of the 2016 race to date.”

  8. Ron4Hills says:

I have been joking that Bernie is Tim Conway’s “Oldest Man in the World” from the Carol Burnett show but I have been wrong.

Bernie is Howard Beale. “I’m as mad as hell and I am not gonna take it anymore.” If you guys remember the movie Network the Powers That Be tried to spin that one “moment” into a movement, but the truth is Howard really did not have much ELSE to say.

That is “Feel The Bern” in a nutshell.

They eventually killed Howard Beale. Thank God that will not happen to Bernie.

  9. NW Luna says:

I’m late again at catching up….great post, JJ!
