A Truce in Moral Superiority by Tina Dupuy

The distinction of liberal or conservative often hinges on the association with the word “hypocrite.” To liberals, being a hypocrite is a mortal sin. There’s nothing worse than being accused of not living up to the standards you ascribe to. Hypocrite is a dirty word to call a liberal. It’s even worse than calling them “liberal.”

Take a look at that op/ed when you can.

  1. Well, it has been a strange couple of days. I’ve been dealing with a migraine. But one thing that is exciting, my daughter auditioned and got a solo for the chorus trip to Chicago. Big deal because she is a freshman.

I got a chance to see American Hustle, it was awesome. way better than Wolf on Wall st.

Have a good evening, hope I can read Daks post now, looks like it was a good one.

      Congrats to Bebe!

Hope your migraine has resolved. Love the comics, especially the Wiccan Kohlrabi Lobby.

I am pretty sure that Christie is now ensuring that all his former staff and cronies are going to turn state’s evidence on him.

  3. NW Luna says:

I’m proud to own that “hypocrite” would indeed be an insult to me.

‘Top Gear’ host Jeremy Clarkson accused of using anti-Asian slur during season finale

A law firm acting on behalf of actor Somi Guha, who appeared in 2006 sci-fi film Children of Men, has written to the BBC claiming Clarkson’s use of the word “slope” — which can be used as a derogatory term for people of Asian descent — contravened the Equality Act 2010.

In the latest Top Gear series finale, which aired earlier in March, Clarkson and co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May were tasked with building a bridge over the River Kwai in Thailand.

At the completion of the task Clarkson said “that is a proud moment, but there’s a slope on it”, just as an Asian man can be seen walking towards him on the bridge.

Hammond replied: “You’re right, it’s definitely higher on that side.”

I saw the Burma shows and they were great. This is massive bullshit and worthy of twitchy faux rage.

U.S. judge OKs class action in e-book suit against Apple

NEW YORK (Reuters) – A federal judge in New York granted class certification on Friday to a group of consumers who sued Apple Inc for conspiring with five major publishers to fix e-book prices in violation of antitrust law.

U.S. District Judge Denise Cote said the plaintiffs had “more than met their burden” to allow them to sue as a group. She rejected Apple’s contentions that the claims were too different from each other, or that some plaintiffs were not harmed because some e-book prices fell.

“This is a paradigmatic antitrust class action,” wrote Cote, who has scheduled a trial later this year to determine damages, which could reach hundreds of millions of dollars.

    Good news!
