Site News

Hola and good morning. Wonk will be posting the morning reads shortly…so I thought I would just make a quick post to let everyone know.

We have been working on the blog’s appearance, and have set up a test site so that you will not be overloaded with changes. If you would like to see what we’re working on check it out! (Be sure to see what the individual post pages look like too.)

Later tonight…around 2 am cst, we will be redirecting the blog to our new URL. So be sure to update your bookmarks, the new URL is:

If you seem to have trouble with your feeds, you may need to update the RSS subscription as well. I know it is a P.I.A. but this URL will not change if and when we upgrade to a web host server…and move the site away from

The old URL – will still work, it will be redirected to the new address…but the best advice is to go ahead and update your links now.

Please let us know what you think about the “look and feel” of the blog’s appearance on the test site. Like I said this is a work in process, and the changes will be frequent until we nail it all down.

This is real exciting news, the blog is growing and developing into a real voice in the conversation. You all are part of the evolution and progress of the Sky Dancing Blog…and all of us on the front page team value your thoughts and input.

    To quote a client:

I don’t know if I am over here, or over there?

, after clicking, I thinking I am back at the old word press…

    • CinSC says:

me too… the link just redirects back to wordpress. Any chance the font can be a little bigger on the articles… I’m running for my reading glasses.

The link to the new URL will not work until after we switch it, some time after 2am cst. So tomorrow morning, it should be working correctly.

I like this page better than what I see at Check it out link….if you re asking . This seems a nice mix…what’s with all the boxes at the check it out site? This that generally the new blog style?

  3. paper doll says:

still like the sky dancing bar over head better… looks better imo than boxing it to the side.

    Constructive criticisms:

The best font for reading online is good old fashioned Arial, which is why it’s so widely used…and it’s scalable in most browsers which is important. (Scalable = When you press to enlarge your fonts, it’s still readable). The other fonts being used aren’t as scalable or readable. Times is typically the font for headlines.

Navigation columns should be separated more from the rest of the text (and maybe in a smaller font to make them look less busy). I know with spacing issues, you’re probably tied to the template. If so it might be good to see about finding a different template.

    That’s it!…Cuz you asked! ;-).

Teresa, take a look at the test site now…changed it up a bit.

      • Teresa says:

Improvement! Looks good! At first there were some scaling problems, not sure why, but now they look great! ….I’m sure you’re still working on them, but you might want to consider making the right column headlines smaller if you haven’t considered that already.

Also, I had come back to say, I mentioned arial as a generic font name. Many SANS serif fonts (no curly cues) are good for online viewing.

And BTW, for print serif fonts are still better. Go figure ;-).

  5. paper doll says:

wow, I really don’t like the scrawled headlines…huh? if they must be, how about bigger? They are hard to read imo

    Hey, you asked! lol!

I preferred the old site. it looked edgier and current.. but this one is ok… just dont like the curley head lines hard to read… still i will keep coming back to read
