Fox News Consultant Comes Out for Enslaving Pregnant Women

h/t to ECHIDNE of the snakes

We’re headed back to property status ladies.  Keith Ablow argues for forced pregnancy. Why do these nuts think it’s okay to deregulate banks but consider women’s bodies their personal property?

The abortion debate has left one issue largely off the table: The proper rights of men to prevent the abortion of their children.
I believe that in those cases in which a man can make a credible claim that he is the father of a developing child in utero, in which he could be a proper custodian of that child, and in which he is willing to take full custody of that child upon its delivery, that the pregnant woman involved should not have the option to abort and should be civilly liable, and possibly criminally liable, for psychological suffering and wrongful death should she proceed to do so.

Allow men who want to be fathers, and who could be good parents, to compel the women they impregnate to bring their children to term.

From ECHIDNE:

I love the language. Men “impregnate” women and then “compel” them to bring “their” children to term. Ablow notes, as a quick aside, that his proposal has certain negative consequences for women:

I understand that adopting social policy that gives fathers the right to veto abortions would lead to presently unknown psychological consequences for women forced to carry babies to term. But I don’t know that those consequences are greater than those suffered by men forced to end the lives of their unborn children.

In Ablow’s world no woman can die or become seriously ill from pregnancy or from giving birth! There are only “unknown psychological consequences,” probably minor, from being forced to bring to term the child of any man who has successfully impregnated her! The pregnancy does not happen inside her body, the stakes in the pregnancy are identical for both men and women, and, honestly, pregnancy has no physical health risks whatsoever!

But this is one of those chilling and cold-blooded arguments you will get once you define a fertilized egg as a child. The woman has become an incubator for a child and the man has parental rights from the minute the egg and sperm unite. Inside the woman’s body. Which means that he has rights to endanger that body if he so wishes.

Indeed, all our Keith thinks a man needs to make is a credible claim that it is his sperm! Any woman can then be forced to give birth. Perhaps even by a rapist, say? Ablow is unclear on that point.

This is outrageous. It’s hard to believe that a major media outlet would give a platform to an argument for forced servitude. This is beyond the pale.

Well here’s a quote from Dr. Ablow (the jokes just write themselves) that gives us a peek into his mind, “And I am absolutely certain that no woman needs to become pregnant who wishes not to become pregnant.”

  2. WomanVoter says:

Well Obama signed the Stupak Executive Order, Stopped Single Payer, blocked the Public Option, blocked the Medicare Buy In and is now going to CHOP/GUT Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid…who is going to stop them from enslaving women? Nancy Pelosi hasn’t stopped not a one of Obama’s policies, even though those policies go contrary to the Democratic Platform.

EEEEaaaagh – we must be living in an insane asylum. They’ve all gone bonkers.

clearly we should all take to our computers and deluge Fox with our opinion of this lunatic “Dr.” Ablow (that can’t be his real name – is it?)

Everything is falling to pieces. Stop the world, I want to get off. (hmmm sounds like a good title;)

Another alleged man with a tiny prick or erectile dysfunction who’s afraid of women. How stupid can you get? A woman has to have the final say because it’s HER body. That’s it. Because otherwise, it’s control of another person’s physical being, which is … guess what? Slavery. I do believe that was abolished a while back.

Really, seriously, these loser dudes do not want us having sex at all. It is repugnant to them. It terrifies them. And they don’t know how to do it and they don’t like it. First, they get rid of any insurance coverage for our birth control. Then, they impose forced pregnancy. We have to stop spreading our legs, girls. That’s the only birth control they’ll accept. Sluts, all of us.

I think it’s the multiple orgasm bit — that bit is rarely mentioned.

Well that’s the only humor I can find in this SciFi dream I’m having.

  5. Branjor says:

When I read that at echidne I was absolutely speechless.
There are no adequate words to describe that level of assholishness.
What is that moron doing on TV?

  6. mjames says:

Oops, Dak, you called it right in your headline: “enslave” pregnant women. I’d just expand it to all women. It is slavery, absolutely.

  7. northwestrain says:

THIS is finally being said in public? These bastards have been empowered.

Really I can’t see much difference between the radical “christians” & the radical Islamic males — ownership of women.

Next step is to cut off education for girls — forced single sex classes. As soon as the girls can get pregnant they will be removed from the home and kept in dormitories. Let’s see this version of the future was done in Handmaid’s story — another version by Frank Herbert Tleilaxu — the male race — or where are the females? Turns out that female children are raised until they can become “tanks” to reproduce.

When is the final wake for the Dem party — and America?

    Did you notice this part:

“Just in my own practice of psychiatry, I have listened to dozens of men express lingering, sometimes intense, pain over abortions that proceeded either without their consent, or without them having spoken up about their desires to bring their children to term and parent them.”

“Or without them having spoken up”??!! I hear the world’s smallest violin playing. These men are whining about abortions, when they did not even let the women know they got pregnant that they would be supportive of continuing the pregnancy!

So the solution is to enslave the women? When a man faces death to get a child safely born from his body, he can decide whether to continue his pregnancy. Until then, it is the woman’s decision (which has been settled by the US Supreme Court, even in cases of marriage).

wouldn’t you hate to have him for a doctor? or a therapist?

Want to hear something really creepy? Keith Ablow writes thrillers about a psychopathic serial killer who is also a psychatrist.

      • Branjor says:

It all fits together in a horrifying, making-the-blood-run-cold kind of way. Imposed pregnancy is one of the ways men have tried to kill women over the centuries.

  9. Fannie says:

I bet ablow wears a white uniform, and has a stack of keys attached to his belt.

  10. JeanLouise says:

Samuel Alito once voted in favor of allowing a husband to veto his wife’s choice to have an abortion. I believe that he’s around fifty years old. That means he has about thirty more years to persuade his woman-hating allies on the US Supreme Court to agree with him.
